Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Supreme Court justice, trailblazing feminist, and the closest thing to a folk hero the high court has ever seen, has died at the age of 87.

Ok probably a little early to be coming up with scenarios, but try this one on.

Election day is a repeat of Bush/Gore 2000 coming down to one state. Because of the mess with mail in voting, the election comes down to something like should late received main in ballots be counted in which case Biden would win. Case goes before one of the newly minted Trump lower court judges, he rules they are invalid giving the win to Trump. Goes to the Supreme Court, Robert's sides with the liberal resulting in a 4-4 tie, which means the lower court ruling stands. Then the left goes totally ape s**t.....

The thing that’s disturbing is that she was so mean that she and her handlers all pretended that she was fine, just for political reasons. Disgusting. Just like the RATs that are promoting Biden, who we all know won’t be President. You can see Harris’s glee that she thinks she’s going to be prez. The passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg has transformed the election from a contest on a series of issues to a contest over one issue only, whom will be the next justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

That issue will become clear when Donald Trump announces whether he will announce a candidate before the election. One thing is clear, the question of who will change the balance on the court will certainly energize the left. The question is will the appointment by Trump before the election so energize the left as to permit them to take the focus away from Joe Biden's obvious inadequacies and put it on resisting of Trump's appointment and rendering that into a new crusade.

My tentative view is that the left will react mightily in any case and Trump must do what he has done consistently in his presidency, move forthrightly on behalf of conservatism. If he fails reelection he might nevertheless have secured the court for decades.

It is not to be forgotten that the appointment of a true conservative can also stimulate the Republican base. It might even blunt the opposition of many educated suburban women who have posed a grave threat to the president's reelection if a female is appointed in Ginsburg's place.

In any case Mitch McConnell has promised to shepherd an appointment even before the election or the inauguration of a new President. Let the war begin!
