Fauci Spills The Beans: A Vaccine Won’t End COVID-19 Restrictions
The Federalist ^ | 9/14/20 1 hr ago | Georgi Boorman

Posted on 09/14/2020 6:21:15 AM PDT by conservative98

Dr. Anthony Fauci just spilled the beans: contrary to the implicit promise numerous politicians made that COVID-19 restrictions would only last “until there’s an effective vaccine,” Fauci says the arrival of a vaccine won’t mean life will return to normal, perhaps for more than a year.

“If you’re talking about getting back to a degree of normality which resembles where we were prior to COVID, it’s going to be well into 2021, maybe even towards the end of 2021,” said the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases on Friday.

A safe and effective vaccine produced this quickly would be a stunning scientific accomplishment that could save thousands of lives. But Fauci warned that widespread distribution and getting “the majority, or more, of the population vaccinated and protected” won’t happen until perhaps the end 2021, and therefore means we cannot be free from oppressive lockdown measures until at least that point.

Aside from Fauci being a reliable harbinger for politicians moving the COVID-19 goal posts, we have three very good reasons to doubt the understanding promoted by politicians so far about returning to normal when a vaccine is deployed: 1) politicians already moved the goalposts far away from “flatten the curve” and “15 days to slow the spread” and thus can’t be trusted 2) they’ve ignored their promise of reopening if effective treatments were found, and 3) the newly discovered phenomenon of COVID-19 reinfection gives panic-pushers an excuse to keep lockdown measures until some new target of vaccine efficacy or compliance is met.

In short, we have every reason to believe Fauci might even be understating the persistence of lockdown measures and almost no reason to believe previous political promises.

Anthony Fauci is always the harbinger of additional suffering to be inflicted by state and local governments. Count on governors parroting the new expectation.

This whole thing has become high comedy. Fortunately for me, I’m pretty much watching as a spectator. The only way this thing has really affected me is that, thanks to working from home, I’m saving roughly $800 after tax dollars a month, and three commute hours a day. So I’m good.

And nobody makes me wear a mask.

However, OSB board has almost tripled in price. I ain’t buying any more until the price comes down.

But I feel for the rest of the nation, especially those under 40 that watch too much CNN and are petrified. Their generation will have to deal with the fallout for many decades.

13 Sept: Daily Mail: PETER HITCHENS: How the Government is wading into the swamp of despotism – one muzzle at a time
The Government has no legal right to impose the severe and miserable restrictions on our lives with which it has wrecked the economy, brought needless grief to the bereaved and the lonely and destroyed our personal liberty.
This is the verdict of one of the most distinguished lawyers in the country, the retired Supreme Court Judge Lord Sumption.

He said last week in a podcast interview: ‘I don’t myself believe that the Act confers on the Government the powers that it has purported to exercise.’...
As he is one of the most distinguished legal minds of our time, Jonathan Sumption’s opinions on this matter are surely important...

Lord Sumption’s intervention is, of course, so huge and important that the media of this country have somehow not noticed it...

Schoolboy Johnson’s lies keep getting bigger
The official Covid death and hospitalisation figures, declining ever since April 8, are now bumping along the bottom of the graph, close to zero.
Hence the false epidemic of so-called Covid ‘cases’, which the Government is trying to pretend exists. How simple-minded do you need to be not to see the great flaw in this?
On Monday, the media reported new coronavirus cases in the UK had risen to 2,988 on Sunday, the highest daily total since May. Panic! Or perhaps not.

I searched the Government’s own spreadsheets and what did I find? More than 1.1 million tests each week but fewer than 10,000 positive results. Judging by the state of the hospitals and the death rates, I think we may assume most were just fine, as most who catch this disease are.

So, for this, we propose to stop people gathering in groups of more than six? I sense even those who have, up till now, put up with this rubbish are beginning to tire of it...

Going to Fouci for information about this virus is like going to CNN for information about Trump.

It’s like trying to get an honest answer about the Hatfield family from a McCoy. I simply don’t take a word he says seriously. But then, I haven’t since early April.

Ok. I have had a MONSTER virus for 4 days now.

Sister is Doctor and says it could well likely be COVID.

I’m from NYC...I thought things were on the downswing here though.

And NO, I have Never had anything like this virus in 52 years. Attacked nervous system, I was twitching and getting spasms Everywhere, my pulse went above 150, my headache was so bad I thought I was going to stroke out, the body pain was unreal. Vomiting like the exorcist. 30 blankets and still chills :)

And then...tada...I started getting better. Still feel EXHAUSTED and a little sore but that’s it.

I’ll go get tested when I feel strong enough.

I’m Definitely in the obese category and over 50 with a touch of high blood pressure.

I didn’t die. Sorry Fauci.

I will say it is the sickest I’ve ever felt. So what?

If it is indeed covid, and such a big deal wasn’t made the past year, I would think to myself “wow, that virus sucked” and then forget all about it.

You don’t close a country down for this.

Once again: When was Fauci elected President? Exactly what authority does he have over this country?

Answer: He wasn’t, and he doesn’t. Everyone needs to stop listening to him, reading anything he says, watching him on TV, or acknowledging his existence. The President sets national policy, not this repulsive little fellator.

meanwhile, in Australia, who know who or what to believe?

the death was a HUGE story...this update not so much. note The Age immediately ***protects Comrade Dan Andrews:

10 Sept: The Age, Australia: ‘Youngest COVID-19 victim’ may have died of another cause
By Richard Baker
The man in his 20s who was called Australia’s youngest COVID-19 victim was suspected by senior health officials to have died from another cause, possibly a drug overdose, at the time (Victorian) Premier Daniel Andrews publicly linked his death to the coronavirus.
***There is no suggestion Mr Andrews was aware of the possible involvement of drugs or another cause of death before his August 14 daily briefing, but The Age has been told by people familiar with the case that officials in the Health Department had discussed the circumstances of the man’s death as being indicative of an overdose...

The young man was infected with coronavirus when he died, but the State Coroner, John Cain jnr, has in recent days decided to classify the case as a “reportable death” requiring a coronial investigation...

The announcement by Mr Andrews on August 14 that a man in his 20s was among the latest 14 COVID-19 victims shocked many and ***sparked national headlines. The other 13 deaths announced by the Premier that day were people aged in their 80s and 90s...

A Victorian government spokeswoman said all deaths in Victoria with a positive coronavirus diagnosis were included in the state’s toll, regardless of whether it was the overarching cause of death. She said this reporting was consistent in all states and territories to ensure the figures were comparable throughout the country...

Australia’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Nick Coatsworth, this week addressed the assertion that COVID-19 death tallies were being distorted by people having other, existing medical conditions.
“There’s been a lot of discussion about how we’ve classified COVID-related deaths,” he said. “I remember as a junior doctor trying to do death certificates – it’s not always an easy thing.”
Dr Coatsworth gave the example of someone who had influenza dying of a heart attack and then trying to decide which one to record as the cause of death.
“I don’t, by any stretch of the imagination, think it’s a reason to underplay the severe impact that COVID has on people who have [existing] conditions.”...

12 Sept: Sydney Morning Herald: Aged care deaths fall during pandemic with influenza at record lows
By Dana McCauley
Almost 1000 fewer elderly Australians died in aged care homes during the first seven months of 2020 than the same period last year in a trend attributed to record low influenza rates, but experts warn this does not minimise the deadly threat of COVID-19...
The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Australia was ***797 on Friday afternoon, 588 of them in residential aged care and seven in home care...
A Victorian health department spokesman said the state recorded zero influenza deaths in aged care this year by September 5 compared to 121 deaths over the same period in 2019 and two in 2018.
https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/aged-care-deaths-fall-during-pandemic-with-influenza-at-record-lows-20200912-p55uzt.html

***816 deaths at end of Monday 14 Sept 2020.
