She said she’s been to this hair dresser many, many times. That’s called....my regular hairdresser.
So, the hairdresser she’s been going to for years ‘fooled’ her, so it’s best she just throw the nice hairdresser under the bus.

That’s how I understand it, too. And from what she said — something like, “I’m not allowed to work, but ...”, it seems that may also be a beautician and is following the rules by not working and is personally losing money. Sounds like one of the stylists who rents space from her went rogue and snuck in Nancy. (I could be totally wrong, but that’s how I took it.)
That would explain the one of this story that confused me. I couldn’t understand how the security camera footage got into the public domain so quickly.

But I would add...it is the Speaker of the House of the United States calling.
I work with a lot of affluent people and they do expect exceptions to the rules. The beautician maybe had little choice in the matter. A powerful politician making sure she didn’t work again for refusing the appointment or accept the appointment and hope to not get caught.
This is how I took it as well.
