Shocking video captured the moment a man in a right-wing Patriot Prayer cap was shot dead in Portland after a day of violent clashes between President Trump supporters and Black Lives Matter protesters.
Videographer Justin Dunlap was filming live late Saturday, casually noting new artwork on buildings as most of the day’s violence appeared to have ended when he suddenly turned toward shouting.
Two gunshots then rang out, a cloud of smoke appearing to show the gunman standing just a few feet in front of his target.
As a group of about a half-dozen shouted and fled, one of the other men started walking away — collapsing on the ground after a few steps, a panicked driver skidding to a halt just feet in front of him.
Several people rushed to help, and officers in riot gear — who say they heard the shots while policing the demonstrations — were there within minutes.
An Associated Press freelance photographer who heard three gunshots saw police medics working on the body of the victim, who appeared to be a white man. The freelancer said the man was wearing a hat bearing the insignia of Patriot Prayer, a right-wing group whose members have frequently clashed with protesters in Portland in the past.
Police said the man was shot in the chest and was declared dead at the scene. He was not immediately identified.
It was not immediately clear if the shooting was linked to fights that broke out as a caravan of about 600 vehicles with pro-Trump supporters was confronted by counter-demonstrators in the city’s downtown.
Dunlap said that the victim had earlier maced people, and someone could be heard on his video shouting that the victim was a “motherf—er who has been pushing people and jumping people the entire time.”

Interesting. Some states don't consider a black-powder weapon a firearm. An armed felon could attend a rally, and be home-free.
OTOH, it could intense lighting for the cameras.

Me too. Several of the people killed were just walking in a parking lot or going between classes and had nothing to do with the protests. When lead flies it makes no distinction about good or bad.
Have pro-Trump protesters learned anything yet? If you conceal carry, you better have body armor! And you better have others nearby as backup! And if you carry openly, ALL of the above, and more!

if it’s a handgun, that’s seems like a good amount of smoke, so you could be right.
This was most likely the black guy standing over the body who was yelling this in another, close-up video. He took off as the cops started arriving and could be heard mouthing off at the police as he made his retreat. Probably an accomplice of the shooter (who was white, so there is your diversity, Marxists).
You might be interested in picking up a copy of James Michener’s KENT STATE. He provides a lot of background leading up to the burning of the ROTC building, the National Guard mobilization, and the campus shooting. He includes the activist backgrounds of each of those students who were killed and some information on the wounded.
