As COVID-19 Fears Wane President Trump's Approval Rises in Swing States

COVID-19 panic porn peddled by the mainstream media seems to be having less effect on voters. In the last two weeks, voters who say they have “very serious” concerns about the virus has fallen from 49% to 45% in six key swing states. This drop could be attributed to the fact that positive tests are declining along with hospitalizations.

According to Worldometer, it is clear we are also getting better at managing and treating the illness. Despite higher case numbers later in the summer, there have been lower death rates than earlier in the pandemic. Perhaps this is because terrible governors, like New York’s Andrew Cuomo, have stopped shoving patients into nursing homes, in combination with better treatment options.COVID New CasesWorldometer screenshot. Even NPR had to note that among nations with more than 50,000 cases, the United States has one of the lowest case fatality rates. This ranking indicates we are generally effective in protecting the vulnerable and treating patients who become ill.

With this decreasing panic, President Trump’s favorability in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin is rising. According to a CNBC/Change Research poll of 4,904 people, President Trump’s approval rating has increased from 46% to 48%. Voters also increased their approval of his handling of the pandemic from 44% to 47%.

In the poll detail, it appears unaffiliated voters may have been under-sampled. Democrats made up 38% percent of respondents, and Republicans made up 35%. Given that 34% of voters in 2016 exit polls identified as independents according to Pew, it would seem affiliates of both parties are oversampled. This mostly applies to Democrats who did not go to the polls in greater numbers than Republicans in the last election.

I kind of figured the virus itself would become a ‘normal’ part of life while the riots/violence on the other hand would be seen as unacceptable by most reasonable people.

There were not a lot of masks in evidence at Pence’s speech @ Fort McHenry last night.

Sudden interest by some Dems with the riots across the country, riots that they denied were going on for months(or blamed Trump for if they did admit there were some), shows Dems are getting scared.

Simple solution to the pandemic,,,,Make HCQ and Azithromycin OTC drugs so anyone who develops a cough and/or fever can go the nearest drug store and self medicate with the drugs along with Zinc Sulfate with correct dosage within 48 hours of symptoms and pandemic over.,,,,,instead of waiting a few days to get tested and 5 days for the results,,,,if over 60 years of age,,,,you’re dead.

Well its a good thing Trump took the counting of coronavirus positives and deaths from the totally corrupt, incompetent CDC and brought it into the White House.

Well now isn’t this an overly simplistic pronouncement of a complex issue.

The CDC is still playing games though.

Yesterday they instructed hospitals to quit testing asymptomatics. Probably to drive the death rates up as a percentage of the total.

Pence has been awful at keeping control of any of this.

“This drop could be attributed to the fact that positive tests are declining along with hospitalizations.“

I think it is less based on improvements in reported statistics, and more based on the realization that the statistics never justified all this shutdown and mask wearing crap in the first place.

More and more people are of the opinion that this whole government mandated overreaction was a huge mistake, and daring to say it. Even some Democrats are starting to admit it.

My favorite meme:

“Covid19. The virus so deadly you need to get tested to find out if you had it.”

But the fact that Dem governors started howling at the new CDC advice to test less-and the CA governor immediately stated a doubling of testing in CA—tells me the opposite. The Dems hate the new CDC advice, so it must be good. . .

First, the only person I know who was counted as a Covid Death was my brother-in-law and he was on hospice care for brain cancer. When he died tests were not available, but they labeled him a “presumptive Covid Death” and we were not allowed to hold a funeral. This was months ago.
We are still not allowed to have more than 5 people get togethers in this state.Despite my wife and I both being retired “care givers”... her a nurse and myself a firefighter... we do not personally know anyone who has told us that they tested positive.

The only numbers that I mostly trust are “deaths from all causes”. They can still be manipulated but not to the same extent as the “Covid” numbers. Those numbers have steadily decreased since mid April to the point where they are now back to normal for this time of the year.

The “new cases” number is complete nonsense. Because most people are asymptomatic or do not experience serious symptoms, there have always been at least 10 times as many people infected as compared to those who seek medical attention and get tested. When the virus was running rampant tests were not yet widely available.

The positive to negative test ratio is bologna also. In our state (Washington) and most others, every new positive test result is affects the ratio and is counted as a new case even if the person tested positive previously. Our paranoid neighbor has been tested a dozen times... in his case they all have come back negative, but in most cases it is those who test positive that get tested over and over again... driving both the positive to negative test ration and the “new cases” number higher.

And do not even get me started on the Covid death count numbers. The medical community and the states have discovered that they get more money if they report people died of Covid with predictable results. People who have been shot in the head, smashed into solid objects with their motorcycle, were on hospice care for cancer, had heart attacks, strokes, flesh eating bacteria, and all manor of other conditions have all been counted as Covid Deaths.

This year we have been subjected to the worst manipulation of numbers imaginable to keep the panic going. The global warming fear mongers must be very proud but a little jealous of their leftist brothers in arms have accomplished.

The graphs tend to be misleading, but here are the actual numbers as reported by the CDC which has proved itself to be easily manipulated during this situation. Look at the numbers under deaths from all causes an see if you notice any trends. Please note that the number of deaths from all causes for the week ending February 8, the week when the first Covid case counted was 59,268. On the week ending May 30th deaths from all causes was back to 59,188 and it has never been above that number since.

One should also not that cancer, heart disease, and lung disease all kill more people than even our inflated Covid numbers show. This year people have been afraid to seek medical treatment and in many cases were not able to get “elective treatment” or screening for these more serious killers. This likely has had as much or greater an impact on the total death from all causes number as Covid itself.

My wife and I were frequent volunteers and sometimes paid at the Life Care Center in Kirkland Washington. It was a fine place that unfortunately was the the first facility to have reported Covid deaths. But we have not kept in close contact with our friends there.

In April, eleven people on the fire department that I retired from tested positive, but I do not know who they were. Only one developed any symptoms, but it turned out they were from his hay fever.

When my wife was still working as a department head in multi-level care facilities... she always made it her top priority to make sure that as many residents as possible got their flu shots. She had worked at big places that sometimes lost dozens of residents during flu season. Somehow no one who was not involved in nursing care facilities took any notice back then.

Wait for it: increased coverage of how much damage the commie virus does to you if you survive the onset of the disease. Everything from lung damage to loss of hair will be blamed on this including hang nails and acne in those under 25. Probably wrist damage too!!
