A number of women thought to be on the short-list of contenders to become Joseph R. Bidens running mate are slated to speak at the Democratic National Convention - with a notable exception: Susan Rice.
The Democratic National Committee on Tuesday provided a preview of the lineup of speakers for the virtual convention, which is set to air live each night from August 17 to August 20.
The schedule includes an open slot for Mr. Bidens vice-presidential pick to address the crowd before former President Obama takes the stage on Wednesday.
Ms. Rice served as a national security advisor in the Obama administration and has been among the mentioned vice president possibilities.
But she is not on the current list of headliners.

Gonna be Moochie.
Meaning she’s already slotted for running mate speech?
The schedule includes an open slot for Susan Rice, Mr. Biden's vice-presidential pick to address the crowd
That could be it.
That's what I was thinking.
I predicted it from day one. The Obama people that are running Biden’s campaign were always going to pick the ultimate Obama Administration holdover. If there was any question that Biden was ever going to be anything but a Trojan Horse for Obama’s 3rd term, this seals it.
Sounds like a likely explanation to me. I hope it is her, it would be a disaster. But the dems really have no decent choices, especially since Biden unthinkingly locked them into a black woman being the pick.
We had a thread last night about a plane being dispatched to Buttigieg. Now this.
Joe isn’t exciting.
Joe isn’t doing anything.
No one cares about Joe.
All they have is curiosity about who the VP might be. That’s as good as it’s gonna get for the Dems.
From the article:
“Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Sen. Kamala Harris of California are scheduled to speak.” As is former First Lady Michelle Obama. So, Rice is conspicuous by her absence from the speakers list.
Interesting. This would be a bad choice by biden, but good for Trump.
Current betting odds.
Candidate
Kamala Harris 1/1 — 50.%
Susan Rice 5/2 — 26.6%
Gretchen Whitmer 4/1 — 20%
Tammy Duckworth 14/1 — 6.7%
Val Demings 18/1 — 5.3%
Elizabeth Warren 20/1 — 4.8%
Michelle Obama 28/1 — 3.4%
Karen Bass 33/1 — 2.9%
Keisha Lance Bottoms 66/1 — 1.5%
Gonna. E Big Mike and then shortly before the election, Joe will be dropped or will mysteriously die and then Hello she-devil. And darn, there wont be time for her to campaign or debate.
I feel certain that Republicans like McConnell, Romney, Sasse, Thune and Lamar Alexander will come screaming out of the countryside and rip Susan Rice from stem to stern in a defense of MAGA.
Regardless of who is chosen, I wonder if Vegas has a line yet on how many days it will be before Joe forgets who his running mate is?
Better yet, do they have a line on how long after the convention will Joe drop out due to ‘whatever’?
We all know well never see that happen. However, I think Oz, Tig, and Tonto might have a few words to say about it.
Problem is, Biden has interest other than his replacement (er, VP pick). Once that is made (unless it is an ugly homosexual black communist woman) will alienate the rest of his single interest blocks.
Chicago’s roots eliminated one potential choice.

You forgot your meds this morning.
Eric Holder.
Only because Saul Alinsky is dead.
Michelle does not want to be in government. Good heavens, she could barely stay in DC as First Lady, many times she considered her duty as a sacrifice. Once she claimed she couldnt even open a window at the WH. No Michelle is happy right where she is, Hamptons, yachts, late night show appearances and the Hollywood scene.
