ustice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, battling a recurrence of cancer, was hospitalized Wednesday to undergo "a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure" and likely will be released from the hospital later this week, the Supreme Court announced.
"Justice Ginsburg underwent a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure today at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City to revise a bile duct stent that was originally placed at Sloan Kettering in August 2019. According to her doctors, stent revisions are common occurrences and the procedure, performed using endoscopy and medical imaging guidance, was done to minimize the risk of future infection. The Justice is resting comfortably and expects to be released from the hospital by the end of the week," the release says.
The long-serving liberal icon, who has a history of medical problems, announced earlier this month that she is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for cancer that have been showing promising results.
"On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy (gemcitabine) to treat a recurrence of cancer. A periodic scan in February followed by a biopsy revealed lesions on my liver. My recent hospitalizations to remove gall stones and treat an infection were unrelated to this recurrence," she noted in a July 17 statement.
"My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment," she said.

Millions of people won’t be praying for her because they were murdered in the womb.
Her body is simply breaking down...even when repairs aren’t holding evidences this.
Thanks for posting and good to see someone else reading Just The News. I really like that site they do a great job and break important stories.
Apparently, even some of us on the right fall prey to the temptation of virtue signalling.
I had a friend who had bile duct cancer. He was diagnosed just after Thanksgiving and died on January 6th, about 6 weeks.
It is common to have this procedure, so that in itself is not news. However, what it suggests is that she is a lot closer to the end than what is being reported.
This isn’t the first time she’s had this procedure. I don’t think you can calculate anything based on it.
If she had a stent-in-stent procedure, that may be a sign that the cancer was starting the obstruct the initial stent.
I understood that she had been hospitalized a week previous and was released this past Wednesday. Is she back in the hospital or is this old news?

We don’t need another issue to motivate the left to harvest more ballots. We barely got Kavanaugh through the process. There is no way Trump could replace her before the election. There are 5 Rs in the Senate that would cave.
Does Ruth have bile duct cancer too?
Amen.
If it were anyone else other than a politician or SC justice, they would have stepped down and dealt with this in private. I can only gather that the political hate in Ginsburg must be overwhelming. Just look at the riots in the streets. That’s who we’re dealing with.
So your estimating around 06 September !
I wonder if the mayor will block entry?
Dr House says in the absence of a clear diagnosis....... treat
Thanks for the post, a fairly good one. I take only one exception.
“He is responsible for who will sit on the US Supreme Court, and no one on earth can do anything about that.”
I am not a theologian. If that were true, I would counter that we wouldn’t have the 9 justices that we have. Also, this negates the idea of God giving human beings the gift of free-will. He is responsible for when each of us is called from this life, and yes, there is nothing any of us can do about that. We should take no glee in the passing of another which I believe is a key point that you are making and I agree.
