I never knew they put out music together. Man, Stevie Ray was one hell of a guitar player. Shame he died after getting sober.
Oh, my. You have to hear Hard to Be and the Telephone Song. Tick Tock was a bit of a hit, I believe. Like I said, it has hippie lyrics (”People of the world, all get it together. Get it together for the boys and the girls”) but it sounds good.
China is planting many other seeds than TikTok.
Nevertheless:
MAGA!
Go Trump!
Exterminate the yellow peril in all its permutations.
I support banning it from U.S. gov't agencies and employees, though.
“I have that authority.”
I don’t think he does. But he may be able to really put pressure on them to behave.
The original company, Musical.ly which morphed into Tiktok, was established in the US with an office in Santa Monica, Ca, around 2016. Now TikTok is based in Los Angeles, with global offices in London, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Jakarta, Mumbai, and Moscow. Originally launched in 2016, the TikTok app now covers more than 150 countries and regions worldwide and supports more than 75 languages.
They were nailed by the FCC, however February 27, 2019. The following describes a Settlement that has been formally brought by a government agency. The Federal Trade Commission and Joseph H. Hunt (Assistant Attorney General), alleges and charges as follows:
The operators of the video social networking app Musical.ly, now known as TikTok, have agreed to pay $5.7 million to settle Federal Trade Commission allegations that the company illegally collected personal information from children. This is the largest civil penalty ever obtained by the Commission in a children’s privacy case.
The FTC’s complaint, filed by the Department of Justice on behalf of the Commission, alleges that Musical.ly violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires that websites and online services directed to children obtain parental consent before collecting personal information from children under the age of 13.
“The operators of Musical.ly—now known as TikTok—knew many children were using the app but they still failed to seek parental consent before collecting names, email addresses, and other personal information from users under the age of 13,” said FTC Chairman Joe Simons. “This record penalty should be a reminder to all online services and websites that target children: We take enforcement of COPPA very seriously, and we will not tolerate companies that flagrantly ignore the law.”
They are an American company now on Olympic Blvd. in Santa Monica, so throwing them out of the country is impossible. He can apply pressure through Charlie and I hope he does. They knew what they wee doing.

What’s a toilet bowl licker gonna do?

If our kids have it, will it no longer work? How is this going to be accomplished?
Does this not fall under censorship? I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this one.
The President has full authority to stop Tik Tok under his national security authority. This has been proven to be spyware. It doesn’t matter if the company has a U.S. office. It’s software is used for spying. The Chinese have been too clever by half and the President of the U.S. is only one of many worldwide leaders to decide to ban this Internet threat to his nation.
But I’m so good at that game. I never lose with either X’s or O’s.
Not tiktoktoe?
O Nevermind! /Litella
Yeah, probably not much crossover between the “wokees” and Trump voters. How many Tik Tok fans/users on FR I wonder? Oh well, no big loss I hadn’t even heard of “Tik-Tok” until a few months ago, and it was bad news RE: CCP spying on U.S. kids.
CA AG should be going after China as CA has a very strict online privacy law RE: kids, cookies, selling you info., etc...CA AG too busy suing PDJT for that tho..
Clearly a national security issue that needs to be addressed...

What exactly is the NATSEC threat?
“This will cost him the 14-year-old votes.”
There may be some truth to that. 14 year olds will account for a substantial amount of universal mail in votes.
This is meaningless. Trump says lots of things.
Trump also said he was declaring ANTIFA a terrorist organization.
Yeah! Sadly, I wont know the best stores in the area in which to loot though.

Tic-toc for Tik-Tok?
It’s really getting ridicurous! /Donna Chang
