President Donald Trump is cancelling the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, he announced Thursday during a White House briefing.

They got the message out quite nicely at Mt Rushmore and can get it out more at small rallies held at secure limited access venues where antifa and DNC goons cant stage their violent tantrums
Trump is just going to be renominated anyway!
I think he should fly out to the carrier Yorktown in Charleston to give his acceptance speech!
How so?
Based entirely to your ridiculous response.
okay
The problem is that elections are held under state law not federal law. Each state determines its own election process. That’s why only Nebraska and Maine split their electors by congressional district and Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah and Washington hold all their elections by mail ballots.
What worries me the most is the Democrats now have eight more Governors running the elections in states than there were in 2016.
‘I dont know why the GOP even bothers having a physical convention anyway’
because a well done convention provides a measurable political bounce; especially when the convention goes second...
‘but maybe a few will be put off by the protests enough to consider it.’
no, I’m afraid they’re hopeless...
He should have changed his coronavirus approach long ago. Nixing the convention is what I dont agree with. I think its a panicked reaction that will only hurt the energy level on our side. But it is what it is.
POTUS is riding solo in the swamp and that often makes for ugly politics. Once the local GOP bailed on the convention it was DOA. Had the Jax mayor thrown down the gauntlet at the Democrat terrorists in a Trumpian manner I have no doubt it would still be on. I suspect DeSantis vouched for Mayor Curry and that was a huge mistake. He’s a shoe shine boy for the local Jax Chamber of commerce. Total lightweight.
‘They dont have to vote for Trump. They just have to be convinced to not vote Dem.’
what in the world makes you think they’re going to give up their right to vote...?
I was wondering what the heck that comment to?
‘It is a comprehensive route with Trump heading towards 400 EVs.’
hmmm...
Are there some that actually talk to pollsters? I thought that most Republicans were too busy working for a living to do such a thing. I know I am.
They might just stay home.
It hasn’t recently, and check the lack of messaging from the convention getting through the media gatekeepers to MSM coverage from 2010 forward.
Somewhere in his Führerbunker deep within the bowels of the Governor’s Mansion in Raleigh, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper is laughing his ass off. Mission accomplished, you miserable hack.
I thought were taking ammo away from joe? How is my response any less ridiculous than yours?
Tulsa was a problem with a minimal leadup and HEAVY security by pretty much all the LEO in OK helping out. Antifa/BLM were prepping for literal street battles in Jacksonville and were prepared to burn the entire city down if needed to provoke a kent state reaction. Then comes the COVID issue and deliberate spread by a foreign power (iran)...
Trump is letting the fake virus reports control his narrative.
Good points, conventions are a waste of time.
‘but were in the mess were in solely because our side largely wanted to downplay the virus versus everyone pulling together to beat the damned thing.’
utter baloney...this virus would have been treated no differently than any other viral outbreaks if it hadn’t been an election year, and rightly so; we knew from the start who was the vulnerable cohort; instead of isolating and protecting them, we allowed deception from China to form the dems political policy; slash and burn, scorch the earth, damn the pain and social strife it caused...
