Major League Baseball came out in defense of players who knelt during the national anthem on Monday evening, taking on critics and tweeting in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. As Breitbart News reported, several members of the San Francisco Giants took a knee during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner during a preseason game hosted by the Oakland Athletics before an empty stadium filled with cardboard cutouts. I was the least athletic person in my family, my brother and father played college football and my father was a high school football coach for a long time.
I was a football season ticket holder at my alma mater for nearly 30 years before giving it up...
I have loved sports since I was a kid.....
It’s hard to give them all up but I have and once you stop watching it’s a little hard at first but after a few games you begin to realize you don’t really need them and take up new interests....
But I refuse to allow political correctness be shoved down my throat...the only recourse I have is to not support sports that insult everything I believe....
I wonder what sport will replace MLB?

Sports was already done for me before this when all you started hearing about were salaries...free agents blah blah blah.
Fine with me, especially since soccer really is football, unlike the curiously named and eminently violent, stupid and dangerous American “football”.
All soccer players are doing it in the premiere league and some do the black fist...

Ps it does occur to me that once players became multi millionaire kings and not just well paid it was to hard to relate to. I’m old but it’s TRUE...the past was far superior, more innocent and more enjoyable...money corrupted so many things then social media arrived and killed it all. Movies...gone...sports...gone..music industry...gone...anything else?
As a long suffering Mariners fan this would be the last straw. A mediocre team on the field combined with political theater means I am done with baseball.
The exhibition games are a joke. Its pissing of the bettors. Doing things like ending inning before 3 outs due to maximum pitches..and allowing extra batters..pitches.. leading to runs like last night with yankees
Part of me was kind of looking forward to sitting on my porch listening to a baseball game this summer. This sort of BS just sours it.
Guess I’ll go back to all the other things I was doing during the lockdown.
