The political correctness mob is now coming after professional baseball. This was on the horizon. When the lefty mob scalped the Washington Redskins, whose new name is unknown, this was bound to happen. If you give the Left an inch, they'll take several hundred miles. You cannot give an inch of land. The same applies to statues. This wasn't about Confederate statues, folks. Any person could see the long game here. The Confederacy was the flank march to move against the real target: The Founding Fathers. This nation's history is the target.
The Left wants to erase it—all of it. Any figure with a problematic past has to be wiped off the map. The "woke" ethos is unbearable. There's no nuance. By design, it's meant to wipe clean almost everything, to finally smear America as a racist country that has done untold harm to the world. And the Texas Rangers are part of that embodiment.
The op-ed in The Washington Post, written by Global Opinions editor Karen Attiah, declares the team name "must go" because of its sordid history:

There are many sports nicknames which are offensive to someone.
We have dealt with Indian nicknames for years. This thing with the Redskins has been percolating for years.
Pressures will come to Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Black Hawks, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, and any other Indian names still out there.
And other names are offensive if people choose to be offended.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish is offensive to Irish.
Boston Celtics is offensive to the real Celtic people.
Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Buccaneers celebrate criminal activity.
Dallas Cowboys is offensive to real cowboys.
New Orleans Saints, San Diego Padres, and Los Angeles Angels are offensive to the Catholic church and Catholic people.
New York Yankees is offensive to southerners.
You can find something wrong with almost any sports nickname if you have too much time on your hands.
“One riot, one Ranger...”
Pirates were bad people ... let’s change the Raiders and Buccaneers names too.
And I’ll bet a LOT of the original gold rushers were racist too, so let’s get rid of the 49ers.
Large lives matter ... no more Giants or Titans.
And for PETA’s sake (pun intended), no more Lions, Bengals, Dolphins, Eagles, Ravens, Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams, Broncos, Colts, Panthers or Falcons.
And surely Buffalo Bill was a racist ... better change that one too.
And the left thinks everyone in Texas is racist, so no more Texans or Cowboys.
So, are the ‘sf giants’ going to have to change their name because ‘little people’ are offended? White sox? How about the 49ers since they took land and gold that belonged to “native Americans”. How about the ‘Angels’? Are satanists offended? This could go on forever.
The woke need their own country. If we can no longer defend this one from them, we will have to find another.

Each time they win, they gain power — regardless of whether it is a statue, a street name, a city name, a building name, a sports team name.
Whether they win or lose on a particular ‘concern’, they will wake up tomorrow with the intent of going after something/someone else.
They will never satisfied. NEVER.
Look at how many cower at their coming.
