The June 28 email to the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was ominous: A senior adviser to a top Health and Human Services Department official accused the CDC of undermining the President by putting out a report about the potential risks of the coronavirus to pregnant women.... [snip]
As the country enters a frightening phase of the pandemic with new daily cases surpassing 57,000 on Thursday, the CDC, the nations top public health agency, is coming under intense pressure from President Trump and his allies, who are downplaying the dangers in a bid to revive the economy ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election. In a White House guided by the presidents instincts, rather than by evidence-based policy, the CDC finds itself forced constantly to backtrack or sidelined from pivotal decisions.
The latest clash between the White House and its top public health advisers erupted Wednesday, when the president slammed the agencys recommendation that schools planning to reopen should keep students desks six feet apart, among other steps to reduce infection risks. In a tweet, Trump who has demanded schools at all levels hold in-person classes this fall called the advice very tough & expensive.
While they want them open, they are asking schools to do very impractical things. I will be meeting with them!!! Trump tweeted Wednesday. The CDC was already planning to issue new guidelines in the coming days. But Vice President Pence on Wednesday explicitly tied the effort to Trumps ire.
The president said today we just dont want the guidance to be too tough, Pence told reporters. And thats the reason next week the CDC is going to be issuing a new set of tools.

My prediction - we will be dealing with masks, social distancing and other nonsense for about 18 months to 2 years. Why? , because we are prolonging the pain. We need to get to herd immunity as fast and as safely as possible. There will be no vaccine. There is no vaccine for H1N1 (Spanish Flu). Yes, there is a “Flu Shot” but that doesn’t always work and I don’t think many people are going to be rushing to get a “vaccine” that hasn’t been tested for a long time as the possibility of other health issues as side-effects (stories of Autism, fatalities, paralysis which may or may not be related). You get the picture.
with all these new cases... how many more deaths are there?
why are all these people not dying?
If this T cell immunity is a real thing, then herd immunity will come sooner, IMO.
This whole thing is ridiculous. Yes, people die. People die from diseases and infections. But we cant hide away from all illnesses. Lowering the curve for everyone getting deathly sick at once was kind of a good dies when this virus was an unknown and could have been some sort of Ebola or plague.
Its not. Its a horrible illness though, terrible, long lasting side effects. But most recover pretty well.
Coronaviruses dont lend themselves well to functional vaccines where the benefits outweigh the long term risks.
The best hope which I notice is NEVER MENTIONED by any health or other officials is to build the healthiest body you can starting yesterday. So that your case will be asymptomatic or mild. If you are already immune compromised, or very ill, stay isolated, but even you will eventually be exposed. So up your vitamin d and be careful with immune suppressing treatments and meds.
It’s a flu.
But let’s just shut down everything and hand it all over to China.
That’s the plan.
President Trump has stated otherwise multiple times. There are 5 leading candidates for a vaccine right now. I believe 3 are entering or already in phase 3 trials. President Trump has pushed the makers to manufacture the vaccines in parallel to the phase 3 trials (never been done before, high risk, high reward) so it'll be ready to go if proven safe and effective. And we only need 1 to work.
There is no vaccine for H1N1 (Spanish Flu).
Yes there is. It's part of the seasonal flu vaccine.
"there is a Flu Shot but that doesnt always work"
It does work, just not always very well against the particular mutations of Influenza circulating at the time. The difficulty with Influenza is its high rate of mutation and the length of time it typically takes to produce updated vaccines (months). If we could speed up that timeline, we'd have a vastly more effective vaccine. But going more quickly would cost a lot more money.
"I dont think many people are going to be rushing to get a vaccine that hasnt been tested for a long time as the possibility of other health issues as side-effects"
If it makes it through phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 trials, it's pretty much good to go. The chances of any widespread issues after that are slim. If people choose not to take it because they're afraid, maybe they need to consider the big picture, including all the damage SARS-CoV-2 has done to the economy. I'm not talking about the political response - such as shutdowns - I'm talking about people being afraid to go do anything in groups or in public. About people holding back all their spending because they're afraid for the future. No vacations. No travel. All the economic activity that isn't happening because there's a virus going around. A vaccine puts an end to that IF enough people get it. Or we can just let this drag on for several more years and see whose job is left.
Anyone remember when it was only gonna be a lockdown so we could flatten the curve? Well it has long been flattened. Why in the world are we still doing any of this? Tons of capacity, deaths on a good decline since end of April. We are good to go now. Lift all restrictions now. You cannot lockdown forever and even if you did, the virus will be waiting the day after.
Had we just quarantined those at highest risk, and let things go, this would be over already. All we are doing now is prolonging the virus. I see no reason for a virus to be in the population any longer than it has to.
What a great post. I am really glad people like you are on this board.

More importantly, why are they not even sick? Showing only mild symptoms? Not needing hospitalization?

Bump
IF this is true that Trump is FINALLY going to assert his control over power-mad out-of-control bureaucrat doctors (and I am going to reserve judgment on that) it’s the best news I’ve had since Valentines Day.
I would like to know these questions.
As I Monday morning quarterback this it occurs to me that Pence really let the task force run HIM. He was supposed to be the firm hand in control, keeping everyone on the same page and reining in rogue behavior.
In this he has failed miserably.
This scenario is really worth a prayer.

Investigative journalist and former CBSHealthwatch reporter Jon Rappoport has been writing on so-called epidemics for 30 years and after writing 150 articles on COVID-19 and coronavirus, he has come to the conclusion that the virus is one of the greatest frauds in modern history.
Rappoports site, No More Fake News, exposes The Matrix, as he refers to it in daily reports with tons of information.

Influenza is a virus in the Orthomyxoviruses family. It's a negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus in the Negarnaviricota phylum. It looks like this:
SARS-CoV-2 is the virus which causes the COVID-19 disease. It's a positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus in the Pisuviricota phylum and the Coronaviridae (hence: coronavirus) family. It looks like this:
Other differences include the rate of spread between humans (R0). For Influenza, the typical R0 is 1.3-1.6. For SARS-CoV-2, the R0 is estimated at 3.28. The infection fatality rate for seasonal flu is about 0.1% For SARS-CoV-2, it's estimated by the CDC to have a lower bound of 0.26% and Johns Hopkins puts the likely IFR between 0.5% and 1%, which would make it 5-10 times deadlier. Seasonal flu causes an average of about 37,000 deaths in a year in the US (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html. SARS-CoV-2 has killed 136,461 with nearly all of those in the past 4 months. That's about 3.6 years worth of flu deaths in 4 months. And that number is currently accelerating upwards in the US.
It's certainly valid to have an opinion that the severity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus does not warrant such a reaction as we've seen in the US and other parts of the world, but it's also a fact that Influenza viruses are completely different from SARS-CoV-2, both in terms of their structure and genetic code, as well as their impact to humans.
There is NO vaccine for H1N1, SARS, HIV, MERS, Fauci s a useless POS!!
I’ve seen reporting (which I obviously can’t verify) that hospitals in Florida, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, California, and Georgia are running out of space already and have started shipping patients to other hospitals. In California, Los Angeles hospitals are reportedly shipping their patients all the way up to the San Francisco area (400 miles away).
For the US as a whole, the 7-day moving average for COVID-19 deaths is the highest it’s been since June 24th. The 3-day moving average is the highest it’s been since June 11th. People are getting sick and people are dying.
