The United States now has so few deaths due to COVID-19 that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday it is approaching the threshold for dipping below the level of an epidemic.
The CDC defines an epidemic as an outbreak from which the number of deaths per week exceeds a given percentage of total deaths within the nation. The number of deaths from COVID-19 has steadily declined since hitting its peak in early May after it began spiking in the second week in March.
That threshold death rate for COVID-19 and other diseases such as influenza and pneumonia fluctuates, ranging typically from 5 to 7 percent at the height of flu season. The CDC said the Wuhan flu death rate had, during the last week in June, become equal to the epidemic threshold of 5.9 percent, reaching its lowest point since the end of last year.

O Zhit, what are we going to do with all those useless training burkas aka nose nappies aka face muzzles?
It never WAS. Grrrr!
Not if the corrupt MSM can help it. They need this panic to keep going.
Good news for Americans is bad news for Democrats. As always.
Don't worry. Governor Newsome will keep California shutdown throughout the year. And I'm sure there will be other bugs (swine flu maybe) coming out in the Fall that the Media and Dems will incite panic wherever possible.
Just insanity.
But how will democrats use it as a political weapon?
It is now safe to go outside and purchase Soylent. Now available in green.

AP: NY count: 6,300 virus patients were sent to nursing homes

New York hospitals released more than 6,300 recovering coronavirus patients into nursing homes during the height of the pandemic under a controversial, now-scrapped policy, state officials said Monday, but they argued it was not to blame for one of the nations highest nursing home death tolls.
Gov. Andrew Cuomos administration, which has taken intense criticism over the policy, instead contended the virus rampant spread through the states nursing homes was propelled by more than 20,000 infected home staffers, many of whom kept going to work unaware they had the virus in March and April. Another 17,500 workers were infected through early June.
Facts matter. And those are the facts, state Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker said in a news conference...
While New Yorks report doesnt rule out whether the March 25 directive played any role in the thousands of nursing home deaths, it notes that the virus was already present in many homes before they accepted COVID-19 patients from hospitals. Over 80% of the 310 nursing homes that admitted such patients already had a confirmed or suspected case among residents or staffers, the report says...

Gretchen Whitmer is deeply saddened...to be kicked off her power trip
I fish a local lake that is the home to quite a few homeless. One of them walked up and handed me a mask a couple of months ago. (They were handing them out at a nearby homeless advocacy facility.) I said What am I supposed to with that? He said Use it to keep your nutsack warm, for all I care.
He makes more sense than our governor. (Oregon)
Isn’t that horrifying?
Still Cuomo [he was never that great...] ‘s fault.
If there's no rise in the next two weeks, the story is over because they can no longer claim deaths haven't gone up because of a lag of 3 or 4 weeks from the case count spike. It may linger and pop up here and there, and certainly the media will do anything for clicks and politics, but it'll be over.
Best laugh I’ve had all month!
Will the governors pay? About the time the abortion docs have to answer for their crimes against humanity.
Wait two weeks, then another two...../s
I have noticed a lot less bums in my N. Oregon Coast community in the last couple of months. Nobody I asked could give me an answer as to why until this weekend.
Some friends in S. Oregon said that Eugene put out some attractive programs for them. The word got out and they flocked to Eugene.
The leftists in Eugene have finally done me a favor.
