Natalia Wallace, 7, was shot in the head in South Austin, a Chicago neighborhood, around 7 p.m., according to the Chicago Tribune.
Natalia, known to her family as Natalie, had just finished the first grade at Crown Community Academy of Fine Arts Center.
“Natalia was a very quiet and sweet little girl,” her school, Crown Community Academy of Fine Arts, said in a statement.
“She completed every assignment during class, got along with all of her peers, and colored the most precious pictures ever given to me. Natalia never hesitated to ask for clarity when needed. Sometimes, her quiet spirit gave her the strength to lead the reading lessons within her group, and she soared when it came to doing math. During e-learning, Natalia was always present and participating. At the end of each class session, she would type in the chat box, ‘I Love You.’”
Natalia was shot in the forehead as she and other children played in the yard. She was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County where she later died, police said.
Shelley Fulton, who is Natalia’s great-great aunt and was like a third parent to her, rubbed her back in her final moments.
“She said, ‘Your baby’s shot!’ and I jumped the flight of stairs to come downstairs, and I found my baby laying here, and I’ll never be the same,” Fulton said. “ These are innocent kids. She was only 7 years old.”
“She’d smile and always tell me, ‘I love you,’” Fulton said.
Natalia will never make it to second grade at Crown Academy, but her family said the least we can do is keep her name and spirit alive.
“We can’t bring her back, but we want justice. We definitely want justice. Justice for Natalie. Justice for Natalie,” Natalia’s aunt Natalie Wallace said.

Police said at 7:02 p.m., Natalia was on the sidewalk when a light-colored vehicle pulled up and an unknown number of people exited. Those people then took out guns and fired shots her direction, police said.
Police said just after 9 p.m. that a person of interest was being questioned in Natalia’s death. No one had been charged.
Horrible. Nothing like this should ever happen in this country.
To BLM, just a minor sacrifice in the noble cause of destroying America.
It’s a tired headline in Chicago. Two weeks ago, 3-year-old Mekhi James was shot and killed while riding in a car in South Austin. Last weekend, 1-year-old Sincere Gaston was shot and killed while riding in a car in Englewood, and 10-year-old Lena Nunez was shot and killed when a stray bullet entered her grandmother’s home in Logan Square.
Natalia’s parents saw those faces and never imagined that their own 7-year-old daughter would become one of them.
“I mean, who wants to bury their child?” Nathan Wallace said. “It should be the other way around.”
Nathan Wallace said he does not want to see police scaled back. He said he wants more police in city neighborhoods, but he wants officers to do their jobs.
He also said he wants to see more justice, and he wants to see the people behind the shootings caught and held accountable.
“They’re getting a slap on the wrist,” he said. “There’s too many people doing this.”

This is so infuriating to me!!!! It is way past time to delegate the blame squarely where the blame lies. . . without mincing words. Rats, MSM, moron Hollywood types, you have the blood of this innocent child on your hands!!!!!!!!!!
This is sick. Just sickening. How many children will die over this Marxist movement to abolish the police? Criminals will grow more and more bold because the police cannot do their jobs. Police are force. Period. If you charge them when they properly use force in a messy situation you will have police that cannot do the job.
Austin which presumably South Austin is a part of is the leading neighbourhood in Chicago for homicides with 35 so far this year according to Hey Jackass. It is on the western border of Chicago opposite the loop. Sadly this little girl joins the statistics.
