The person who drove a car into a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in Seattle early Saturday morning and left two of them in critical condition has been identified. The Associated Press reported that Dawit Kelete was behind the wheel of a white sedan that swerved directly into the protesters marching on a local highway, hitting two women. A graphic video circulating on social media showed the point of impact that violently flung the victims’ bodies high into the air over Interstate 5.

It was on a freeway at night, and I doubt the driver was expecting cars sideways across the road. Posted speed it probably 55 at least, which doesn’t give him much time to react. Protesters very stupid here.
At first I thought he was probably drunk or high, but whatever, he obviously wasn’t aiming at anybody and overcorrected for an unexpected event (people walking on the other side of the vans).
However, he was a “protester” himself and I think is typical of a lot of the “protesters” - crazy dysfunctional, obviously well off judging from the car he was driving - so I think this is going to disappear from the news yesterday.
Maybe the lawyer couple from St. Louis can represent the driver.

I notice that the protesters used the exact model of white van that was used in South Dakota last evening. Did the puppetmaster rent these vehicles nationally for the leftists???

A Seattle dead head. Knew hundreds of them when we lived up there. 14 years in that hell hole of homosexual perverts and radical leftists. I would have loved to have a battalion from the 101st Airborne Division and a platoon of Abrams tanks. I could have cleaned up that city in a few short days. Talk about flatting a bunch of hard core liberals, man!!! I hated that stinking place, JUST HATED IT!!! My wife finally retired and we cleared out and came home to Alabama!!!!!!

Is putting cars sideways on roads the newest disruption tactic by rioters? It is way past time that mayors and governors say that blocking roads is NOT protected by the first amendment. It is a crime and should not be tolerated.
I figure he saw a bunch of white people trying to stop him and he panicked.
He was not driving fast down a "highway"; he was driving fast on the "freeway"; which, I believe, a lot of us do. It was late at night, dark, freeway, and suddenly there are a couple of cars blocking lanes of the freeway. He swerves, so as not to hit the cars; but, he does hit the "protestors", who (as I read in another article) were wearing dark clothing.
Hubby's response to this was: "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". My take away is that these two protestors are candidates for a Darwin Award.
Blocking I 5 a major interstate highway should carry a long prison term.
He wasn't on a "highway", he was on an Interstate, I-5, to be exact. The "protestors" were blocking lanes of traffic on the Interstate!
Totally agree and if police and politicians sont put a stop to this the citizens must.
So I’ve seen some reports that the city of Seattle or the Washington Highway Patrol had blocked off that stretch of I-5 to let the protesters live-action LARP on it. In that case, it is legit to ask the question how he got on a closed stretch of Interstate...either the closers messed up or he somehow ran a barricade. Either way, it sounds like neither the driver nor the victims were supposed to be there.
Next question: Why the ever-loving crap is ANYBODY in power out there giving in to these morons and closing off roads for them to “protest” on at midnight on a holiday Friday?

There's a video showing that he stopped, but then the mob started attacking him so he drove away. He stopped again a short distance away and waited for the police to show up.
