John Bolton would consider testifying against Attorney General William Barr if House Democrats were to call him, he told The Washington Post in an interview Tuesday.
"I'll certainly consider it if and when it comes up and consult with my lawyers and try and do the right thing," Bolton told The Post's Robert Costa in a virtual interview.
The House Judiciary Committee is preparing to subpoena AG Barr in an investigation into the firing of Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman last weekend.
"You know I'd rather not get into a hypothetical about that," Bolton told Costa. "Let's see what they do. The way they mishandled the impeachment inquiry gives me pause, I have to say especially in light of the circumstances of things that President [Donald] Trump has done to prevent the book itself from being from being published."
Bolton admits speaking out against Trump's actions during a presidential campaign is his way to try and undo Dems' "mistake" of not only not deterring him with an impeachment that fizzled in the Senate, but also but "enabling" him going forward.

I salute you. Wish it hadn't come to this.
Cant believe so many Conservatives were behind Mr. War.
I make it a point to NEVER trust a man (or woman for that matter) whose mustache is a different color than their hair...
Bolton seems like he is from Utah. Let’s ask Mittens.
Bolt On would testify against his children if he thought it would help his book/career,
Bolton is setting himself up for a perjury trap when he testifies falsely.
What a snake he is! Deplorable!
Yes they must be airtight anyone indicted brought trial and gets off will be an instant media hero.
Can you imagine what would happen if Hellary was brought to trial and was found not guilty?
Wormonger? he sells annelids?
I remember. All'a y'all were right, too.
Bolton is more beholden to the deep state than to the country. It could be said he is more beholden to the deep state to the Republican Party, but that seems to be impossible since so much of the Republican Party is the deep state and there is little difference between RINOs, Rats and the deep state other than minor branding issues.
Bitter disgruntled ex-employee.
Listened to Boltons interview tonight. I have not read nor am I interested in reading his book. But he certainly revealed he was irritated and bitter that Trump didn’t take ‘his’ advice on matters as if his years of service under other Presients warrented him special consideration over any others.......
Perhaps Sarah H. said it best when she said Boltons problem was he wanted to be President. You can hear that undertone as he speaks.
It was also clear he expected Trump to handle his Presidency as other Prsidents before him. It sure sounded like Bolton had a great deal of difficulty adjusting to Trumps style and the flexibility he operates in when making decisions. Bolton seemed like he wanted things very structured and absolute, and of course that’s the opposite of why we voted for Trump.
One thing I recognized early on with Trump is you have to give him room and flexbility to operate....and further not jump to conclusions until he’s actually determined the course he’s going to take. He puts out there in view what he’s thinking but that is not necessarily what he’s going to ultimately do.
Bolton is a Wingnut
Barr....He’s an honest broker intent on keeping everyone else honest. He can’t change the past and it’s difficult to put together a puzzle when so many pieces are missing. The brand new Strokz memo is a good example.
Testify against Barr for what, exactly?
Bolton is the type of man who really enjoys knowing somebody is afraid of him. He get’s a kick out of playing the Govt. Appointed Boogie Man. That is my impression.
How self-destructive IS Bolton?
Going against another Deep State operative, one who would most likely protect him from Trump by slow walking any actual, real investigation into his crimes, in an attempt to ‘run out the clock’.
Good lord, he is turning out to be SUCH a piece of sh*t, isn’t he.
I used to like the guy. He’s clearly playing for Team Bolshevik, isn’t he.
I’d like to see Bolton testify in his own defense. But don’t lawyers generally discourage that?
