Shootings are surging this week in New York City, with 28 incidents and 38 victims reported since Monday — the day the NYPD disbanded its plainclothes anti-crime unit, The Post learned on Friday.
By comparison, the same week last year there were only 12 shootings for the entire week.

Cops know that if someone is shot and no arrest is made with a prolonged confinement off the street, it is almost certain that there will be retaliatory shootings. In fact cops have asked friendly ER doctors to admit as inpatients victims who really don’t require hospitalization to get them off the streets. That would give them time to arrest and get the shooters in jail. They almost always knew who they were and where they were. It was good police peacekeeping. Now with the hostility toward police, woke DAs that won’t prosecute, immediate release by Judges, the cops will not risk their lives to police and support the law. Many innocent minorities will die in the crossfire. As of now cops don’t even want to accompany the coroners to pick up bodies much less investigate the crimes.
