White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Monday that the president was considering invoking the Insurrection Act to send federal troops to police the streets of America’s major cities in order to stop riots, but that the focus now iss currently on encouraging governors to utilize the National Guard.

“It’s one of the tools available, whether the president decides to do that, that is his prerogative,” she said in response to questions about the president using the Insurrection Act.

The Insurrection Act of 1807 allows the president to call up federal troops to help restore the peace. It was invoked by President George H.W. Bush to send troops to help quell the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles.

Today’s press conference is worth watching.
Kayleigh is a real talent, so well prepared to refute the
press charges, she is so poised, and sharp and quick thinking. She is so new to the job and already is operating at the highest level.

I like that she turns the press quotes against them.

An amazing woman.

I really love that Trump is making it clear to Governors and Mayors: THIS IS YOUR JOB! Because a lot of them seem to believe that their job is merely to identify what their community needs, and then relay that information to the feds.

That's not what their job is.

Let these Blue States clean up their own messes.

They all have state National Guards or militias to call up if they want to.

No Federal Assistance. Especially no billions of dollars to rebuild these third world cities.

The mayhem is happening in blue states/cities.

Let the locals either take care of the mess, or lose their positions in coming elections.

Even in my home region of Seattle area, the people are getting fed up, and past Mayors have been held accountable for failure to deal with violence/looting/rioting/mayhem.

If she’s that good, watch, the media and any left wing org will find a way to get her terminated.

I was wondering how the Insurrection Act and the Posse Comitatus Act could play together. Apparently, they can, by act of Congress, and Congress (I think) allows suppression of insurrections by federal troops under the proper conditions.

************

None of the Dem mayors or governors want to have anything smacking of enforcement actions on their resumes. Its the kiss of death in liberaldom.

AFAIK, you can use the military if the situation is proving to be too much for just the state level to handle it. There’s no point in using the military to carpet bomb a criminal in a farmhouse, nationwide chaos sounds very different though,

I have not heard anyone mention Homeland Security which has
all kinds of armored vehicles. By its title one would think they would be able to be called it with the national
guard.

This should have been seen as coming, we had a president
Obama who allowed occupy wall street, Antifa, and Black lives matter to have violent protests. Many conservatives
could not go to college campuses and make speeches. Trump
supporters where assaulted outside Trump rallies.

And Marco Rubio smears the right by lying that we are taking part in these criminal activities. Who is he serving? Why would he mention us in the same breath as leftist anarchists?

Perhaps for Mayor, but this might be the best chance for a GOP Governor in a very long time. Also, places like Tacoma, Bellevue and Everett may wind up with redder balances.

Seriously, between the homeless, the idiot covid over reach, the looting constantly....even some fairly liberal folks might wanna replace Dinkins with Giuliani...redux.

IMHO, I think Democrats see that their polling is SOOOOOO bad, they are turning to scorched earth policy. This is scary, because they have a ton of money at their disposal, nothing to lose, and fear jail etc.

From now to November...buckle up...it’s gonna be NON STOP RESIST.

Any plans to escape from the Seattle area in the near future Pro? (I did 55 years their before getting out a good stretch of years ago. It was a good decent place to be for a long time.) I’ll never go back unless it is to see family still stuck there.

I love it too. It’s also pulling the rug out from those who want him to take over and federalize it. Trump is not acting like a tyrant, so that pisses off and boxing in the Left.

Watching on Twitter as a bunch of snot-nosed kids urge “protests” in “wealthy areas” of Los Angeles. So far, they keep mentioning wealthy liberal areas, and I wonder how that’s going to impact the finger-wagging Karens as they vote in the future.

Oh, and eventually they’ll get to a wealthy conservative area, and then the sparks will really fly!

Go where?

Liberalism is a disease creeping into everything and every place.

Yeah, thought perhaps of other places but I own a business in Tacoma area and it’s not too terrible here. In fact my office and home is in a very military community of JBLM.

The Secretary of Defense was just on saying the troops need to "dominate the battlespace". While I know he's talking about National Guard, the are America cities, not Iraq or Afghanistan, and terminology is very important.

Those of you cheering on all of this, just remember, the Dems are taking notes and will be using the same gameplan in the future.

Especially those of you cheering on cops randomly shooting law-abiding citizens with rubber bullets, etc.
