Video here

She was a bit out of line, but I don't necessarily see racism, my guess she'd have acted the same was if a white man was videoing her without her permission. Probably would have described him a fat, or tall. I certainly don't see her employer terminating her over this unless there have been incidents implying racism. And no, a black woman walking her dog off leash and being taped by a white man wouldn't be fired. Nor a Muslim, nor a Native, nor a woman from Wuhan.

This is how the whole “Karen” thing started.

She was stupid, but so was he demanding she put the dog on a leash. I have no idea why this would cost her her job.

Haven’t you heard? Some animals are just more equal than others. And the pigs are the most equal of them all.

I wonder what he said to her before he started the video.

She went berserk, ironically choked her dog while calling 911, and aggressively approached a guy who was filming her. She’s lucky she didn’t get shot.
Yeah, I would not want her working for my financial firm if I were a client.

she thought she was entitled and everyone knew that... she was unmasked as just a criminal breaking the law. she was probably not fired for her description of her assailant, but the fact that her job was in human resources and this did not bode well for her handling of real crisis situations. he should not have made a play with a dog treat to coerce the puppy to him, but i can see his logic... she might leash him up then.

Not thinking this reached the level of destroying this
woman’s ability to feed and house herself, pay her other bills.

What the heck?

I’ll bet we’re not hearing the whole story either.

Many communities require dogs to be on a leash, especially in public parks. Unleashed dogs can be a menace. Calling the cops to report being threatened by someone who asks you to leash your dog is outrageous. She is lucky she wasn’t charged with making a false report.

Zero sympathy.

"..We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton.."

Of "any" kind, eh?

Yeah, right. Sure...

The guy who filmed her first posted the story on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/christian.cooper1/posts/10158742137255229

Here is what he wrote

Christian Cooper

Central Park this morning: This woman’s dog is tearing through the plantings in the Ramble.

ME: Ma’am, dogs in the Ramble have to be on the leash at all times. The sign is right there.
HER: The dog runs are closed. He needs his exercise.
ME: All you have to do is take him to the other side of the drive, outside the Ramble, and you can let him run off leash all you want.
HER: It’s too dangerous.
ME: Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it.
HER: What’s that?
ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
HER: He won’t come to you.
ME: We’ll see about that...

I pull out the dog treats I carry for just for such intransigence. I didn’t even get a chance to toss any treats to the pooch before Karen scrambled to grab the dog.

HER: DON’T YOU TOUCH MY DOG!!!!!

That’s when I started video recording with my iPhone, and when her inner Karen fully emerged and took a dark turn...

“She was a bit out of line, but I don’t necessarily see racism, my guess she’d have acted the same was if a white man was videoing her without her permission.”

She said she would tell the police that an African-American man was bothering her. Notice, she didn’t say, “I will call the police and tell them there a guy is bothering me.” She specifically emphasized the fact that he is black. She meant it as a threat - the idea that he would suffer worse because he is black. She’s a racist. The worst kind of racist because she’s exactly the kind of liberal who would insist that only white Republicans can be racist.

"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.

So how long before an internet army is able to find someone, somewhere who did or said something, that works at Franklin Templeton and see if this statement holds true?

I'm willing to bet there are a lot of people at TP scrubbing their social media about now, no?

LOL It just now occurred to me the bird watcher was black.

I thought he was watching black birds. :) I thought how odd.

All that until she starts accusing males at her office of sexual harassment because she’s decided it’s her turn to get promoted so might as well remove the opposition.
