A black man says he asked a white woman in Central Park to put her dog on a leash.
Then, video shows her calling police and telling emergency operators that the man was threatening her and her dog. The woman, who has been identified as Amy Cooper, has apologized. But by Tuesday afternoon she was fired from her job at an investment management firm.
"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.
Many communities require dogs to be on a leash, especially in public parks. Unleashed dogs can be a menace. Calling the cops to report being threatened by someone who asks you to leash your dog is outrageous. She is lucky she wasn’t charged with making a false report.
Zero sympathy.
I see dogs off leash all the time, none of my business, I feel bad for her dog, the way she treated him it was horrible..but the guy, he was also a tattletale. My sis has a Siberian Husky, before the lock down they would take him to the dog park where it was designated for big pups and he would run around off leash, of course the area was surrounded with a fence, huskys are known to bolt so my brother in law would follow him around, make sure he didnt get himself into trouble
Agree 100%. Glad she lost her job!
I feel horrible for the poor pup if this is how she treats him out in public Im worried about how she treats him behind closed doors
and a black dude who goes bird watching?
i would like to see that on tape...
Of "any" kind, eh?
Yeah, right. Sure...
The guy who filmed her first posted the story on Facebook.

Central Park this morning: This woman’s dog is tearing through the plantings in the Ramble.
ME: Ma’am, dogs in the Ramble have to be on the leash at all times. The sign is right there.
HER: The dog runs are closed. He needs his exercise.
ME: All you have to do is take him to the other side of the drive, outside the Ramble, and you can let him run off leash all you want.
HER: It’s too dangerous.
ME: Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it.
HER: What’s that?
ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
HER: He won’t come to you.
ME: We’ll see about that...
I pull out the dog treats I carry for just for such intransigence. I didn’t even get a chance to toss any treats to the pooch before Karen scrambled to grab the dog.
HER: DON’T YOU TOUCH MY DOG!!!!!
That’s when I started video recording with my iPhone, and when her inner Karen fully emerged and took a dark turn...
I think this is the original Karen:
Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill, Goodfellas (1990).
Tip of the Ice Berg.
Plenty of them out there.
Hope she never finds another job
The investment company acting intolerant when one of their employees acts intolerant. Courage is not a Democrat value.
Virtue signaling azzwipes.
“She was a bit out of line, but I don’t necessarily see racism, my guess she’d have acted the same was if a white man was videoing her without her permission.”
She said she would tell the police that an African-American man was bothering her. Notice, she didn’t say, “I will call the police and tell them there a guy is bothering me.” She specifically emphasized the fact that he is black. She meant it as a threat - the idea that he would suffer worse because he is black. She’s a racist. The worst kind of racist because she’s exactly the kind of liberal who would insist that only white Republicans can be racist.
Good reason to carry a firearm in Central Park.
Maybe her employers got a good look at her demeanor, and I’m pretty sure it’s shown itself before.
They normally do what I ask them to do..they would not know..the Command "Bite that person"!! It's laughable....
I've been bit by dogs...three times..that I recall...A GS..when I was s kid..a little POS terrier when I was adult...and my own dog about 4 years ago...
That last one was all my fault.
There are way to many,”love me love my dog” AH’s out there.
Dogs a frigen animal.
Keep it restrained.
disclaimer, I was raised on a dairy farm, we had dogs, lots of them.
Stangers came by, we put them up.
So how long before an internet army is able to find someone, somewhere who did or said something, that works at Franklin Templeton and see if this statement holds true?
I'm willing to bet there are a lot of people at TP scrubbing their social media about now, no?
She’s surrendered the poor dog. Hopefully he will find a more sane owner.
What an idiot, on many levels.
LOL It just now occurred to me the bird watcher was black.
I thought he was watching black birds. :) I thought how odd.
