A black man says he asked a white woman in Central Park to put her dog on a leash.
Then, video shows her calling police and telling emergency operators that the man was threatening her and her dog. The woman, who has been identified as Amy Cooper, has apologized. But by Tuesday afternoon she was fired from her job at an investment management firm.
"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.
As someone else pointed out, doing something someone else “isn’t going to like” is not a reason to call the police

You neglect to mention that he then pulled out a dog treat and was trying to lure her her dog. That combined with the comment about doing something she was not going to like was a threat. What should she have thought he was going to do with her dog after telling her that he was going to do something she didn’t like?
He never would have said that to a man but he knew that the woman would be afraid of him harming or taking her dog because she couldn’t respond physically so he felt comfortable threatening her.

If you simply went back and read through the thread rather than post juvenile replies you will see that the man’s threat was already linked several times.

So your defense is that someone who uses racism and relies on it isn’t necessarily a racist? You’re an amazing hairsplitter. You’re clearly not making sense. And you accuse others of being slow?
He tried to give the dog treats. His sister was with him.
‘Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it,’ Christian responded.
He then beckoned the pooch toward him and pulled out ‘dog treats I carry for such intransigence’.
But he stated he didn’t get a chance to toss any treats ‘before Karen scrambled to grab the dog’ and yelled: ‘DON’T YOU TOUCH MY DOG!’
‘That’s when I started video recording with my iPhone, and when her inner Karen fully emerged and took a dark turn...’ he wrote on Facebook Monday.

Leftists are the Biggest Racists Alive. They see nothing but race and use it for their own power and control. They despise anyone who shows them for the racists they are. They are the most insensitive and intolerant hypocrites I’ve ever known.
I have a strong libertarian bent however if there are posted rules, those rules should be followed. Just because a person is libertarian doesn’t mean they get to make up their own rules or not follow the posted rules. The rules say you leash your dog, don’t like it? Go somewhere else.
Man, ain’t that the truth. Look at how they vilify ANY black or Hispanic person who strays off the path. The see things through a racial lens.
Actually - the term "Karen" existed LOOOOOONG before this woman. It may go back 10-12 years - but the original "Karen" that sparked the real "Karen" craze is the lady in the minivan who was yelling at the Uber/Lyft driver and stuck her whole head in the window (sticker her tongue out). Meanwhile, her kids are still in the car and she screaming at the lady the Uber/Lyft guy is filming.
THAT is the original Karen who started the Karen craze. It goes back a few years.

You dont know what he would or would not say to a man. You dont know him. Emergency services do not exist for preventing strangers from offering your dog a treat. She was full of it and so are you. She should have leashed her dog and walked away. She wasnt calling the police for protection, she was calling them to punish him for daring to challenge her behavior.
Thank you for a little restoration of faith.
dang... i will check my privilege at the door...
good on him...
Absolutely right. A person in their right mind would put the leash on their dog (rather than lifting in by the neck & dragging it around gasping) and walk away. She made the situation & she escalated it by her choices.
Yes, she obviously has some anxiety and panic issues.. She handled it poorly. And, he is an anal-retentive, malicious pr*ck.
I’ve seen people swinging their dogs around by the leash while trying to keep them away from a loose dog trying to attack them. Do you honestly think she was trying to harm her dog? She was panicked and obsessed with keeping it away from the a threatening stranger. The dog was not harmed, but she should probably not own a dog.. She’s probably better suited to have cats.
We are all going to have our own take. Thank you for your civility.
