President Trump said Monday that he was “surprised” by Attorney General William Barr’s statement that he doesn’t anticipate a criminal investigation into former President Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden.
“I think if it was me, they would do it. I think if for them, maybe, they’re not going to,” Trump told reporters Monday afternoon when asked about the attorney general's comments. “I’m surprised because Obama knew everything that was happening.”
“I think it’s just a continuation of a double standard. I am surprised by it,” the president continued.
Barr earlier Monday said he didn’t expect U.S. attorney John Durham’s probe into the FBI’s decision-making in the Russia investigation to lead to criminal investigations of either Obama or Biden.
“Based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr told reporters. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”
He also denounced “increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon.”
“As long as I am attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends,” Barr said.

The dirt isn’t on Barr. It’s on the GOP. They’ve been colluding with Democrats against POTUS provably since 2017 and almost certainly primary season.
Regardless of precedent, Donald Trump will without a doubt face prosecution once out of office. We can only hope enough precautions will have been taken and groundwork in place to stifle all comers. This POTUS has done wonders!!

I’m actually surprised so many older men on this site who should be a lot wiser are willing to cut their nose off to spite their face simply out of hatred for Obama.
We need to take the Long view and realize that Barr is doing absolutely the right thing. A civil war is not good for anyone in this country and if they have the goods on all Obama’s underlings, Obama will be destroyed politically by it. And as other posters have pointed out, all these bastards will be pointing fingers at Obama and testify they were ordered to do these things because they realize Obama’s going to get off scot-free while they go to jail.
The other statements Bill Barr made are in fact very telling, he has used the harshest words to date describing the plot against the president and left no doubt he and Durham know what went down. By doing so he committed himself to prosecuting those who broke the law. And John Durham’s record indicates neither will he leave any stone unturned... or will he shirk from holding those responsible accountable.
The intelligence agencies are absolutely terrified of Durham according to many sources. They know he doesn’t mess around and they are shiting themselves over it. Fred Fleitz and several others have willingly and enthusiastically given statements to Richard Grennel about things that we’re going on at the ODNI, including Brennan concealing high-confidence intelligence product that the Russians actually preferred Hillary Clinton in the election and were working to help her. That will come out... and will stick a fork in that whole Russian collusion hoax.
What Barr said today is a good thing and you should take it for what it is and understand the big picture implications related to indicting a former president. Try to keep your powder dry, there’s a hell of a lot of shit that’s about to hit the fan and whether he’s tried for crimes or not, Obama’s going to be wearing it when this is said and done.
In the end, I do hope there will be Justice for Seth Rich. We all know who murdered him and finding his killers need to be a byproduct of this investigation, although, sadly, I don’t believe it will happen.

All this means is that Barr doesn’t yet have a proffer from Obama’s “John Dean”.
I don’t know. I’m not drawing any conclusions. I suspect if we back off and sit for a week things will become clear.
