President Trump said Monday that he was surprised by Attorney General William Barrs statement that he doesnt anticipate a criminal investigation into former President Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden.
I think if it was me, they would do it. I think if for them, maybe, theyre not going to, Trump told reporters Monday afternoon when asked about the attorney general's comments. Im surprised because Obama knew everything that was happening.
I think its just a continuation of a double standard. I am surprised by it, the president continued.
Barr earlier Monday said he didnt expect U.S. attorney John Durhams probe into the FBIs decision-making in the Russia investigation to lead to criminal investigations of either Obama or Biden.
Based on the information I have today, I dont expect Mr. Durhams work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man, Barr told reporters. Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.
He also denounced increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon.
As long as I am attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends, Barr said.

As for President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on what I know, I dont expect Durhams work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man, Barr said. Our concern of potential criminality is focused on others.
Could Barr be signaling people who worked for Obama and Biden they may get a break if they become cooperating witnesses?
Only takes one rat to bring the rest down.
The key is based on what I know. That is always subject to change as new information comes in. I heard Sebastian Gorka today assert that he still has confidence in Barr. He knows more about Barr than most anybody here so I think Ill wait and see. The truth will be evident soon enough about Barr.
Based on what Barr said, I believe there is no “smoking gun” on Obama or Biden but on James Comey or whoever conducted the interview of Michael Flynn.
I’m surprised he’s surprised. One look at Barr should be enough to alert anyone that he’s a useless human lump of swamp.
If he eventually does decide to go after Obama he should be the last one on the list. Accumulate all the dirt from the others and squeeze them first. Then, if a case can be made on Obama go after him.
Then again, no one expected the Spanish Inquisition!
After a well crafted lead up, Trump should ... for the good of the country ... pardon Obama.
For those able, think about it.
That may happen anyhow. If a democrat is elected this November, the dems will be mightily tempted to trump up a criminal case against Trump. They have spent the last four years wallowing in hate. They have accused Trump of innumerable crimes. Their base would demand prosecution. And once that Rubicon is crossed, it will never end. If you want 2020 to be the last presidential election in American history, that's one way to do it.
Great point, that is the key phrase here.
’I think its just a continuation of a double standard. ... the president continued.”
So he’s saying Barr is working for the other side, is how I take it.
Beat me to it, my first thought.
Here’s an idea: Let’s have a jury decide it.
Can’t see the bottom feeders taking a big hit for the Magic Negro and his dummy Slow Joe.

Barr didn’t get the memo. We’ll see if he changes his tune now.
No, for me the important point is to discredit Obama and his legacy.
As long as I am attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends, Barr said.
Like the Flynn case?
Well, when the president does it, that means it is not illegal - Richard Nixon
