I thought it is interesting that 1 in 20 have ongoing issues.
Also from the article: Meanwhile Covid long-termers have been comparing notes via a Slack support group. It has #60plus-days and #30plus-days chat groups. The dominant feeling is relief that others are in the same grim situation, and that their health problems are not imaginary.
I live in a college town with thousands of Chinese students. My wife works at the university in the economics department where just about all the graduate students are Chinese.
We both had the worst flu of our lives in January, along with everybody I work with. It took two months to clear the phlegm out of our lungs.
There is no way we did not already have it.
It’s a nasty one, but totally survivable.
But it was a good enough excuse to punish Trump voters by destroying their livelihoods.
Who ever cooked up this bio-plague on humanity ought to be taken apart piece by piece.
My first thought as well. It would be worthwhile to do a study of the gene markers on those who have prolonged symptoms vs. those who get over it quickly to find commonalities unique to the first set.
Would you put it past the Chicoms to try to wipe out other races? Their miscalculation may have been assuming that all Chinese are pure Chinese and not have some snippets of European and non Asian genes. Or they know that and dont care as long as the pure breeds survive. Sounds far fetched, I know, but is it possible? They destroy or dont want to share their research. Maybe their research is not focused on a cure but on refining the virus to select targets a bit better.
I wish that when people make statements like yours they would include some evidence - or even educated opinion - from actual physicians, scientists and studies.
Many of us who have lived long enough have had very long-term and unusual aftereffects in our experiences with seasonal influenza.
I agree, although my opinion is that it turned out like a lot of other Combloc weapons and fell short due to shoddy construction. The next one is likely to be more destructive.
Neurosurgeon Says Face Masks Pose Serious Risk to Healthy People
As for the scientific support for the use of face mask, a recent careful examination of the literature, in which 17 of the best studies were analyzed, concluded that, None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection. Keep in mind, no studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission.
There are evidently different strains, and also, it is speculated that the initial viral load you get can determine how severe you case is. Then, besides the pee-existing conditions aspect, there are the environmental issues, from staying indoors and not getting sun and fresh air and exercise to exposure to chemicals.
I got the flu about the 1st week of Feb, and which I had before with the usual symptoms, that of initial drug-like light-headedness, followed by headache and pronounced fatigue, but no sore throat, or cough and just occasional sniffles, and normal aches. This flu passed but the headache (not a migraine type, more like interior pressure) remained for weeks, and which I self-diagnosed as encephalitis. However, I had good energy and wanted to get out, though it was winter. I finally prayed about it, and the headaches have slowly decreased as I got outside more, though it still feels like there is some swelling inside my head. Spent all day in the garden Thurs and Friday, and after about 5 hours of sleep was out the next day, praise the Lord. I am 68, and about 135 lbs, but I never went to a doctor for this (or any condition since the early 80's) praise the Lord, and no one else in the house came down with what I had, though twice weekly we sat a table and prayed, sang hymns and read the Word. Thanks be to God.
Still no one coming out of this with immunity. So much for herd immunity theory.
Can't a brutha get a break???????
They dont think next fiscal year, or next 5 years or even decades from now, they think centuries from now. They already have 1.5 billion people they cannot sustain. Once they can spread out all over the planet and use the resources unconstrained by their geographical location they can support a Chicom world. Theyve already started over the last decades with major investments in Europe, Africa and South America and the United States. They control the supply chains in many countries already. Losing 50 or 100 million to famine or an armed conflict is a statistic to them, not a defeat.
Well, you mention one thing that is important to US - we MUST bring the manufacture of our essential supplies HOME. We never should have allowed this production to go overseas.
But if they believe they’ve released a bioweapon which they think will ‘wipe out other races’, I think they came up with a dud.
“There are evidently different strains.”

Well, that’s what viruses DO.

Someone should ask these folks if their wives told them: As soon as youre better, I have a list of things for you...
LOL!
I heard Dr Siegle this morning on Doctor Radio that a study is promising that the T cells are showing immunity! He was quite hopeful.
Also a doctor said some are now looking at the MMR vaccine they give children to prevent measles. The fact that the children get this vaccine is why they are immune or are not getting the COVID19. He said “cross immunity”
Bkmk
So, what does that mean for those of us who HAD and survived measles, before there was a vaccine?
All of these ‘pronouncements’ by TV experts seem to me to be very simplified, and are discounting all sorts of possible confounding variables.
I’d feel a lot more confident if some of these people would be honest and simply say ‘We Don’t Know, yet’.
I guess that wouldn’t go over very well...
It’s a bio weapon.
