What You Can Expect
Among the steps under consideration: no cabin bags, no lounges, no automatic upgrades, face masks, surgical gloves, self-check-in, self-bag-drop-off, immunity passports, on-the-spot blood tests and sanitation disinfection tunnels.
Digital technologies and automation will play a critical role in the future of air travel. The need to reduce touchpoints at airports implies mandatory use of biometric boarding that allows passengers to board planes with only their face as a passport.

I think I’ll just stay where I’m at.
the airline industry will never return to pre wu-flu levels....
Or drive wherever we need to go.
So many have forgotten the pleasures of the old-fashioned road trip ....
There are oxygen masks on airplanes.
Totally fresh air could be supplied to all passengers easily via spacial masks.
I don’t buy into conspiracy theories, but the more I read stories like this the more I suspect they’re intentional propaganda designed to keep people in fear, hurt the economy and give power back to the globalists / democrats / traitors.
People have been using air travel for ever incresaingly shorter hops.
Four hour check in will restore some sanity...anything less than 300 miles should be done on the ground. Same time.
Sounds like I’ll be driving more.
My dad, now in his eighties, has avoided flying for decades. After 911, absolutely none with the additional inconveniences.
I had to travel for many job assignments, but I think if the airlines are going towards masks and gloves, then I will hang up commercial passenger flight as well.

TSA people could be glassed off easily.
Waiting passengers could be dispersed much better and texted for boarding.
If checking in is going to be a 4-hour process, add the time in the air and the time it takes to get to the airport and it could be an 8-hour ordeal. May as well drive.
Shower, blood sample, semen sample, rectal exam. You’re good. Until we land. Then you will have to go through the same process to exit the gate.
Face minus mouth and nose which will be covered up I assume.
Well, I was on a full flight on Sunday, form Dallas to Phoenix. No spacing between passengers, but the Flight Crew announced their would be no In-Flight Service ( refreshments ) because of Social Distancing
Ridiculous
I suppose those little perks, a beverage/snack will never return
If I can’t drive there, I don’t need to go there.
/retired guy attitude
Nah, didn't think so.
It sounds like we will more likely have a new government unionized bureaucracy to conduct health screenings.
This is why Warren Buffett dumped all of his airline stocks within the last couple of weeks. The industry can survive a major disruptive event, but if even a fraction of the measures described here are adopted, discretionary airline travel will almost disappear.
Not cool when your grandchildren are too far to visit except by taking flights.
