On Wednesday May 6 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported that Gregory McMichael, a former law enforcement official, and his son, Travis McMichael, were arrested in connection with the February 23 shooting of Ahmaud Arbery - 74 days after the killing.

He wasn’t on duty, he wasn’t on his own property, and the ‘jogger’ had not initiated a hostile contact.
Actually I meant to refer to that idiot Zimmerman by ‘wannabe cop’.
They had already told him they had called the police and were making a citizens arrest. He attacked the guy holding the gun and grabbed the barrel of a shotgun and tried to yank it out of his hand.
You obviously didn’t watch the video nor do you have all the information. Okay. Carry on.
I’m a fighter too. Just have to seize the right moment if looking down a gun barrel.
This drops it from 1st degree murder to manslaughter. But it was still an overreaction to shoot
Anything other than 100 percent proof that the person had just committed a crime means nothing.
Now ya see, if you had watched the video, you'd know the answer to that.
Have a great day!
If I am looking down a gun barrel, I am going to assume that the person holding it is going to fire momentarily, therefore anything I can do to kill, injure or incapacitate (and maybe all three in reverse order) them is completely justified.
If they don’t kill me, I will personally see to it that the remainder of their and their families’ lives are filled with lawsuits and anything else terrible I can come up with.
I am convinced that Stefan Molyneux traveled back in time to advise Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on how to portray accurately his character Sherlock Holmes. He is one sharp Canadian.
If I thought somebody was waiting for me that might be something I would do, pretend to run on the direction and then try to get the gun away and shoot them. Not a good strategy, but completely justified, as would ANY action if someone were to attempt to follow or restrain me.
I did watch the video, I still would vote to fry those two murderers. No proof (gooed enough for a court conviction) that the jogger had committed a crime. Nothing other than perfect surveillance video of the victim actually stealing something would be satisfactory.
If you were waiting for me at the end of the street, well one of use is going to die, probably me if I was unarmed, but damned well going to try to take you out.
For the second time, I’m not talking about self-defense, I’m talking about WALKING UP TO SOMEONE AND CONFRONTING THEM. No one who does that when armed should expect a good outcome. No one on FR is against self defense when attacked.
They believe because a man doesnt have a clean past, that he can be executed by three perps who thought he might have committed a crime somewhere.
Only racists see race
If Arbery had stopped as he should have he was going to prison and therefore had to attempt to take the shotgun and kill both McMichaels, father and son.
Only racists see race, yet you are the person making this about race.
“If anyone ever, for whatever reason, pulls a gun on me, they had BETTER kill me, because if I can Im going to get it away from them and use it on them.”
You might think that sounds brave or tough, but in reality that’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. Just saying you may want to rethink making that a general rule, but if that’s your decision, good luck.
Just watch the whole video.
I'll confess that yesterday I felt the same way you do until I watched Stefan Molyneux's breakdown of the facts.
Watch the whole thing before you make assumptions based on ignorance.
Ah, yes, I see you and I share a common view of one aspect of modern life. I would call your attention to my tag line.
ARBERY ran towards the truck & the person with the shotgun...
MY PUMP action shotgun hold 7 rounds. IT has NOT ever been modified.
Don’t know what kind of pump shotgun you are referring to.
if you attack someone, punch someone and try to grab the person’s gun, you are essentially committing suicide. It is legal in Georgia to make a citizens arrest, it is also legal to open carry. The illegal action was taken by the black guy. It’s not much different than the Zimmerman-Martin case.
Did you cough or sneeze when Stefan pointed out that the old man worked as the DA’s investigator since the early 1980’s and undoubtedly knew the criminal record of Arbery, especially that Arbery had had a weapons charge in his past and all the law regarding a citizen’s arrest?
That video got a lot wrong with the law. Don’t follow that video, you will end up in jail like the other three perps
Also Citizens arrest does not give you the right to chase down dangerous suspects to apprehend them.
That is what they were trying to do and failed. The should have left the police work to the police. McMichaels admission that Arbery was dangerous was admission that he, as a citizen, had zero business to chase down and apprehend Arbery. McMichaels broke the law and now he has a dead guy on his hands, he is going away for a long long time.
It is illegal to perform an citizen’s arrest on a suspect for a crime you did not witness or have immediate knowledge of.
Seeing a black man running down the street isn’t enough knowledge to know that he actually committed a crime. Therefor McMichaels was in the wrong
A gun also doesn’t give the license to make arrests of people you think committed crimes. That is the big problem here. Because now we have a dead man. See the problem?
