Russia has leaped ahead of China in numbers of reported coronavirus infections. I wonder at what point in that rate of growth that Russia starts to express a little irritation with its neighbor the quality of China’s reporting.

LOL Fortnight is good American English also. I think that the Wuhan coronavirus when first escaped from the lab was extremely deadly. But, like all viruses, the Wuhan coronavirus evolves continuously. The “initial release” lab variant was most deadly and killed many and killed them relatively quickly. New and less deadly variants evolved. The persons that these new variants infected lived longer and possibly survived. Because these human hosts survived longer their time as “vectors” spreading the virus also lasted longer and allowed more spreading. These less lethal variants had a competitive advantage over the original more deadly lab variant whose carriers had a shorter spread time. The less deadly, newer variants became more widespread than the original variant.
I think the coronavirus variants infecting New York & the East Coast are more deadly than the variants infecting our West Coast populations.

No doubt. Those temporary hospitals , the ChiComs built, were sure taken down quick enough.
It’s like I’ve said 2 or 3 times in my posts regarding China.
I’m pretty sure that the coronavirus deaths in China are way over 1 million, and perhaps over 10 million.
Infected would be way over 100 million.
Can’t trust the Chinese on anything they say, no matter what the subject. If we can’t verify, we can’t trust them. Take whatever the Chinese say and that their dead is at least 10 times that, and perhaps 100 times.
When it comes to the Chinese economy, their growth rates for the last 30 years are also very suspect, and we can probably divide their figures of growth by 10. China isn’t growing. Their only growth, if one wants to call it that, is what the outside world has contributed to them with our businesses and OUR JOBS.
