Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Sunday that he has put First Lady Chirlane McCray in charge of a special coronavirus task force — insisting her work with her embattled ThriveNYC initiativemade her perfect for the new job.
McCray will work with Deputy Mayor Phil Thompson in leading a task force on racial inclusion and equity to make sure the Big Apple rebounds as a “better and more just society than the one we left behind,” Hizzoner said.
The mayor insisted that the First Lady deserved her place at the head of the new initiative because of the ideas she generated — defying critics and praising her work with her $250 million-a-year mental health plan.
“In terms of fighting inequality, Thrive has gone to that point and in many ways even farther,” he insisted, praising his wife’s work in “putting a light” to serious issues, making her an obvious choice for the new role.
“I think that’s exactly the kind of mindset needed for this task force,” he insisted of his 65-year-old wife.
Critics have charged that McCray’s ThriveNYC program is both ineffective and ripe for abuse as a political cudgel.

Is he going to open up a task force to get the subways cleaned up and come up with a plan? I hear that right now the homeless are entrenched and making themselves at home. Meanwhile the workers who stock the shelves, keep the grocery stores running and delivering food put their lives at risk riding the subways and continuing to spread the disease. Meanwhile they lecture the rest of us for going outdoors. Defies all logic.

Because Chirlane McCray was SO effective and competent at heading up ThriveNYC, and losing $850 million dollars she cannot account for. This just shows the absolute incompetency of Comrade Bill DumblASSio and how living in NYC now is like being a passenger aboard a jet plane headed straight for the ground, piloted by a first-time pilot. They’re too busy working on such important things as “Diversity”, “Equality”, “Rights of illegals” and “Rights of Criminals to be turned loose immediately upon arrest” instead of attending to essentials, like the health and safety of NYC citizens. I am SO happy I moved out before the January 1 laws releasing criminals immediately upon arrest and the COVID crisis.

So how much does this pay?
This is what will happen. She’ll get a 8 billion dollars — half of which will be salary and and half will be expenses and office supplies like ancient Louis XIV furniture and pictures from the Guggenheim. A portion also will have to go to Bill’s pot supplies (18 kilos) and a portion will be needed for fine liquor, restaurants and entertainment costs for keeping the well heeled, well lubricated, and the diverse needs of minority bankers. There will be a stipend for travel to Cuba, Monte Carlo and the Cayman Islands and an allowance for gifts to Richard Branson for keeping an open reservation on his yacht for their family when Obama travels with them. And then there are all the little people who are black, brown, white and yellow and they will need the message of HOPE. So more money is needed for TV adds and celebrities and lawyers and judges to make a plea for diversity and HOPE. And her husband should also have a Diversity Czar appointed for NYC, paid for by the people so they can have a visual symbol of HOPE. And she will be the Catherine the GREAT of Diversity CZARS and will have stable of diverse horses and diverse homes to live in all for the great cause of diversity... and, of course, for the little people too.
The President did,through deliberate forethought,specifically allow people of color to die at greater rates than those for others.
At what salary?
At how many millions of dollars in salary and fees?
They are so in-your-face it’s outrageous.
