A Harvard law professor is under fire for her comments in an article about the "risks" of homeschooling as parents face closed public schools because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In Harvard Magazine's May-June issue, Elizabeth Bartholet, a law professor and faculty director of the schools Child Advocacy Program, worried homeschooled children will not be able to contribute to a democratic society.
HARVARD UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR ACCUSED OF COVERING UP TIES TO CHINESE SCHOOL, RESEARCH PROGRAM
"The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18?" Bartholet asked. "I think that's dangerous. I think it's always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority."

....why?
Messing with state sponsored left wing indoctrination is bad....
Big Ed is terrified people might stop sending their kids to the indoctrination centers we call schools.
"Not even close to the original headline"
But Opie was fortunate. The moderator had nothing better to do than clean up his mistake.
Yet "Breaking News"? What? This is old news. Since yesterday. Posted 3-4 times already.
Thought this was a Babylon Bee Article first

Harvard will always exceed one’s ability to think that they could not sink any lower.
“Harvard”, “Professor”.....nough said.
Of course not - that should be the job of the teacher's unions.
Ahhhhhhhhh, a Harvard professor...
remember when that meant something.
GREAT...here in Mexico, with kids at home... Parents don;t WANT to send their kids back to the ZOO. They have played games, read books, and WANT more than ever to be the administers forming values, convictions, and life ideals for their sons and daughters. SORRY HARVARD...don’t trust anyone that thinks there are more than 2 genders... We have been driving a car backwards in the wrong lane, and using the rearview mirror to steer. Time to get things back in order. PARENTS first in education. GO BETSY DEVOS... God is helping you with the Chine Virus.
Harvard Professor Wants A Presumptive Ban On Homeschooling, Claims It Promotes White Supremacy
Harvard Magazine Calls for a Presumptive Ban on Homeschooling: Here Are 5 Things It Got Wrong
“I think it’s always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.”
“The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18?”
Obviously, he never met my Dad or spouted such nonsense around him. And he must be correct. Out of five kids the best my Dad could manage was one PHD, one Master, Two Business owners, and a medical professional.
Just think how much better we’d have turned out with a secular humanist homosexual liberal agenda to guide us.
My daughter has expressed that school for her kids is a waste of time as far as elementary goes.
Her preschool daughter finished three weeks of work in just over an hour.
Her kindergartner finished three weeks of work in about two hours (but he’s a little more rambunctious).
seriously..... what was life like prior to public indoctrination camps, I mean schools? Umm parents had total control over their kids from birth until they left home.....
Love your handle there.
“...do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children ...”
Absolutely!! That is what good parenting is all about. That how a healthy society is built. Remember how East Germany controlled their people?? For one thing they took any child they deemed talented in academics or athletics away from their parents and placed them in government (communist) academy. And boy, Of boy, how they messed up the heads and hearts of those youngsters. They ruined thousands of young people.
Phrases such as democratic society and democracy are thrown about with the greatest of ease. They have specific means. Given the professor is from Haaavaaad, I assume she's progressive, aka, a leftist. We have a constitutional republic, not a democracy. Why is it that leftists always talk about democracy as it something good? Far from it. It's been tried and it has failed. This is why our founding fathers didn't choose a democracy for our form of government.
I home schooled my children. They were taught about democracies and republics, and socialism and communism and ... Anyways, my children know that they don't want to contribute (that's another leftist code word to have their money confiscated and redistributed) to a democratic society.
I'd say that this leftist professor knows little about American history, civics and how capitalism works. (the latter is just an educated guess on my part). So she should just stuff it and keep her pie hole shut. (Now that felt good to say - see, I'm a sensitive man and I have feelings too.)
