Conservatives are mostly a passive lot, expressing their frustrations and anger over ideas they oppose by listening to or watching Fox News, talk radio or attending Trump rallies when that was possible.
The duration of the COVID-19 lockdown and its associated unemployment pandemic are changing that. Recent arbitrary executive orders by some governors have driven many who have never before demonstrated for or against anything into the streets of state capitals, with more likely to come. They want their jobs and country back.

New Jersey and other states have had a chance to see the true faces of their masters. There is an election coming. Lets see if the voters like what theyve seen.
‘There is an election coming. Lets see if the voters like what theyve seen.’
wouldn’t count on Jersey going ‘Pub in November; my beloved home state has developed a bad case of ‘social justitis’, a bodily inflammation that causes the sufferer to reach his hand out for government remedy...
Here in Pa. Wolf can do as he damn well pleases since he can’t run for a third term. If his actions (or inaction) showed us anything it’s how easily and willingly people will give up their freedoms and liberty to a tin pot dictator.
As Ive said many times in the last few weeks ... Youre witnessing what happens when you live in a country run by leaders who are elected by suburban Karens.
Perfectly stated.
We need to view and evaluate current circumstances throughthe prism of events in 1860.
Democrat Governors (House Masters) being threatened by Plantation owners (D Party) regarding residents.
Uppity residents traveling (ignoring the ORDERS of the House Master) off their “plantation” and speaking of “liberty” and “human rights”.
Democrat Governors asserting their independence (secession).
The same, blaming the Federal Government (Northern Republicans) for stirring up the residents, those uppity folks.
The Northern Republicans asserting their authority and the Southern Democrats defying it.
at least your protests are growing. not so in Autralia, where we have virtually no deaths, but a million rules, including the following from Health Dept website:

NEW SOUTH WALES BANS SAVED ‘700 LIVES’. WHY YOU CAN’T TRUST SUCH MODELS by Andrew Bolt
Herald Sun - 18 Apr 2020
Secret state government modelling has revealed coronavirus would have claimed as many as 700 lives by today had NSW not forged ahead with tougher lockdown measures...

YOU ARE FED RUBBISH STATS TO PANIC YOU ABOUT THIS VIRUS by Andrew Bolt
Herald Sun - 21 Apr 2020
At least one of these models is plainly and hysterically wrong. You are being panicked by dud models...
for speaking up, Bolt is smeared, not only in the following:
20 Apr: Pedestrian TV: Andrew Bolt Reckons The Lockdowns Are An Overreaction & Boomers Should Be Able To Play Golf
By Zac Crellin
He argued that while scientists initially predicted around 60,000 deaths in NSW, more recent modelling says the lockdown instead saved just 700 lives, and this means the lockdown has been an overreaction...
Typically, modelling of novel viruses becomes more accurate over time. Typically, scientists err on the side of caution so as not to massively underestimate death tolls. Typically, modelling is often revised without being slammed by the general public for being different to what initial models forecasted.
But none of this matters to Bolt. He simply wants to play golf...

taxpayer-funded ABC revels in panic porn & will selectively cherry-pick whatever figures suit their agenda:
Charting the COVID-19 spread in Australia
ABC - 21 Apr 2020
For the first time in six weeks, NSW has relinquished the grim title of most confirmed cases of COVID-19 per resident.
The dubious distinction has passed to Tasmania, which yesterday reached 200 confirmed infections the equivalent of 37.3 per 100,000 residents.
As of this morning, NSW has a total of 2,969 confirmed cases or 36.6 cases per 100,000 residents...
Most deaths have been of people aged 70 or older.
At least 24 cruise ship passengers and crew, and 9 nursing home residents are among the dead...
KEEP PROTESTING SO YOU DON’T END UP WAITING FOR NO CASES, NO DEATHS, BEFORE YOU GET BACK YOUR FREEDOM.

Don’t really have to go back that far.
My son was reading an old article to me from the local rag, circa 1918, concerning life here in a small town in North Florida. It (the article) discussed how folks were encouraged to wear face masks, and to not be together in crowds. It also encouraged people to keep a distance from one another when out in the public (ie “social distancing”).
The newspaper also carried an obituary of a relative who had just died due to the Spanish flu.
“Youre witnessing what happens when you live in a country run by leaders who are elected by suburban Karens.”
That right there. I see women walking with masks on and no one within a half mile of them. They’re terrified.
