What a difference two weeks makes.
Way back in in those bad old days two weeks ago when President Donald J. Trump (R) was the Prince of Evil because Wuhan, China Coronovirus-19 existed due to something he did or did not do, Democratic party presidential savior and female wet dream, New York State Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo demanded 40,000 ventilators, because scientists told him they were necessary to save lives. But evil Trump scoffed, declaring that many weren't necessary.
Cuomo defended the state’s request for 30,000 more ventilators to save coronavirus patients, a day after President Trump downplayed the need.
“All the predictions say you could have an apex needing 140,000 beds and about 40,000 ventilators,” Cuomo said at a press briefing Friday at Manhattan’s Javits Center. The state’s predictions come from Weill Cornell Medicine, the CDC, and the consulting firm McKinsey and Company.
Cuomo, without mentioning Trump by name, added, “I don’t have a crystal ball. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, but I don’t operate here on opinion. I operate on facts and on data and on numbers and on projections.”
Indeed, the situation was so desperate that Cuomo threatened to use the National Guard to take ventilators and protective equipment from hospitals and other health care facilities in upstate New York where they're not in use to deploy the lifesaving equipment in the New York City area.
"I'm not going to be in a position where people are dying and we have several hundred ventilators in our own state, somewhere else," Cuomo said on Friday during his daily briefing. “I apologize for the hardship to those institutions -- ultimately there is no hardship, if you don't get the ventilator back, I give you my personal word I will pay you for the ventilator"

This crisis is showing the weakness of electing politicians based on campaign ads and promises. If we wanted actual leadership all the time from Presidents and governors, we would use the Thunderdome model of elections.
He needs to be ventilated.
As Trump keeps telling us, Cuomo upped it to 40K—just before it was clear they wouldn’t be needed.
Interesting IMO how Trump has steered away from the reports that they are actually counterproductive in most cases.
Apparently his "scientists" were about as accurate as the Global Warming "We're all gonna die" settle science crowd.
Never let a serious crisis go to waste, particularly when you and your accomplices can create/control the crisis.

Projections of this pandemic’s course of behavior are always risky. The difference is that the standard the president is held to in predicting our needs is absolute perfection, or worse. Whatever he does will be called a failure by many. That’s a given.
I wonder why all of the deaths with ventilators? Was it because of the abrasion in the tracheal tract during intubation leaving an open entry for the virus? What good did the ventilator do when many had lung operation, they just weren’t getting oxygen to the blood. The ventilators didn’t fix that at all.

I rally wish people would stop using the word “democratic” in reference to democrat politicians or the democrat party.
Democrats aren’t democratic, they are autocratic!!

Not to mention ventilators operated by inexperienced people. This is a tragic story that will never be truthfully told, IMHO.
He blames the CDC. Not unreasonable. He was told how many patients would need ventilators. He didn’t come up with that number. He was told how many would need beds, ventilators, etc., and from there it is simple math. He’s told he needs them, he knows he doesn’t have them.
He also said he won’t believe the CDC the next time.
As you allude, not necessarily cause and effect. Might be the treatment simply lacks efficacy under the circumstances appiled.

These are the folks who are most likely all on ventilators.
The ventilator pandemic was another of fake media’s finest hours.
Instead of “all the news fit to print’ being the old motto for the news media.
The new motto for the news media is “all the news ginned up to make Trump look bad”.
Cuomo never had a clue about what was going on with his Trump derangement syndrome ,even Nancy has turned to bingeing Gourmet ice-cream
