I'm very sad to say that The Shrew passed away yesterday. I know there are some oldtimers here that would want to know and possibly share condolences and stories. He was one of the best.
Tim was an O.G. here at FR, he was a great friend, the kind of guy you wanted in a foxhole with you. I will miss him and FR is a better place because of all the wonderful things he contributed to the FR family and to the cause. I will miss you friend.
Met him once at a shooting range. Nice man.
Sorry to hear this, RIP.
He tried to teach me how to cook. I tried to explain that none of the women in my family, both sides, cook. I don’t think he fully understood until he came to visit and ended up working with my husband in the kitchen instead of me. He also served every meal with live flowers specifically chosen to coordinate with dinner. Those special gestures to make things better permeated throughout everything he did.
just went over the "wall" and it breaks my heart....all those names...all those familiar names....and I noticed that so many were relatively young.....
memento mori ....sooner or later...
I had several discussions with him over the years and he was very intelligent and understanding. He also had a great sense of empathy.
RIP my friend.
Yeah.
I hear you on that.
I had a similar outing with Tim in New Orleans. We had just finished a presentation at a big political conference. I was exhausted and running a fever. Tim took me to a high-end restaurant at about 3PM - we were the only customers. He chatted briefly with the waiter, dropping a few code phrases I didn't catch, and soon the head chef appeared. He and Tim talked shop for a solid 20 minutes. I didn't bother to open the menu. The Cajun meal that arrived nearly took off the top of my head, but by the time Tim and I emerged blinking into the afternoon sunlight, I was completely cured.
Thanks. I’ve thought about letting my wife know to post about my demise...hopefully a long ways away. ;>)
Me, hellinahandcart, you, registered (?) The Shrew. That’s all I remember now.
I’ll have to ask my better half.
Great story, IT! I’m really bummed that I didn’t get to see Tim last October during a brief trip to Denver. He was gracious as always and understanding, particularly when their first major snow of the season arrived the next morning. Unfortunately, I’ll not have the chance again in this lifetime.
Lurkernomore hosted. Was abner and shoot, Ibforget her husband’s funny screenname, there too?
Tim was a great guy, great patriot. Prayers for his family and all who loved him. God bless.
I am sorry to hear of this. Tim is the person who taught me to drive nails into my baked potatoes. Who knew?
I flew to Colorado once to attend a meeting at Tim’s house where a bunch of us plotted something. I don’t remember what we plotted, but we plotted it. And then we got drunk.
How the fk are you girl?
I remember that...barely...great to see you Nick!
Thank you, MAF for notifying us of Tim’s passing.
You will be missed - Rest In Peace, my FRiend!
RIP.

Victim of Circumstance.
I remember this occasion distinctly. The description is accurate, but I'm not sure about the sequence of events.
