He is correct. Let each governor be responsible for his/her state and leave the Federal Government out of this.

The President is 100% correct. We are a Republic. We have a Consitution.
Powers not specifically assigned to the Federal Gov’t reside with each state. In effect, the Governors of the States are the President of those states in every respect except those specifically delineated to the federal gov’t.
Our President understands this and respects this. Far more than most.
The president is right. So glad Trump is the president right now.
What power under Article 2 ( or some statute) gives the POTUS the power to tell citizens of any given state to stay indoors?
He finds a way to work this in whenever he can. It's great to see.
In one area of Upstate NY positive patients are violating local and state orders. What the heck good would a national order do?

Trump’s cunning genius on display. Let the governors do their jobs per the needs of the state. Trump’s role is to lead, not dictate.
If a state succeeds fighting the pandemic, Trump wins. If a state fails, Trump wins. Brilliant.
Seems civics lessons are in order in the press briefing room prior to questioning our President.

It’s all about assigning blame. If Trump ordered it people would defy it with abandon.
Not to mention that the same media talking heads who are demanding he do so would be calling him a dictator and demanding he be impeached once he did.

Example of a foolish Governor: Maryland's Larry Hogan
Maryland is essentially three states: Panhandle, Central, and Eastern Shore.
The maps clearly show that the pandemic is out of control in Central MD, the other regions are seeing only a few cases. But all restrictions are statewide.
Example of a wiser Governor: Pennsylvania's Tom Wolf
Restrictions were implemented gradually, progressing westward from the "hot zone" along the New Jersey border and areas near Philadelphia International airport. Still not really needed in the northern tier and Appalachians but when a majority of the counties needed restrictions he went statewide.
Can you believe it! I am actually reading where conservatives are claiming that Trump is now part of the deep state attempt to take away American’s rights. Mostly these are crazy libertarians . . . Trump is the only man in decades that is trying to protect our rights under the Constitution.
Unlike his predecessor, obambam, President Trump is doing right by the US Constitution and what is right for the country.
By asking the question the so-called journalist is suggesting every state should suffer the same as NY and LA are right now in regards to their loss of freedoms.
It’s an extremely self-centered and selfish position to want that. They might as well say: “my state is hurting so I want all states to hurt”.
This is a good time to be in a fly-over state.
