President Donald Trump said Thursday his administration will soon release nationwide recommendations on wearing face masks after initially telling Americans they weren't necessary to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
But a top health adviser on his team strongly cautioned that masks should not lull Americans into a false sense of security that would lead them to abandon social distancing guidelines.
Speaking at a White House task force briefing, Trump said the new guidance would stop short of requiring all Americans to wear face coverings.
"I don't think they'll be mandatory because some people don't want to do that," he said, adding that Americans who do want to wear face coverings can "decide for themselves."

I think Trump is finally, STARTING to get serious about this.

The Trump administration is expected to recommend that Americans in parts of the U.S. where the novel coronavirus is rapidly spreading wear cloth face masks or face coverings when in public to reduce transmission.
For hotspots. Not “everyone wear masks”.
Great! We can’t get near other people. Now we won’t even be able to give them a smile.
Not if they’re not in a hotspot.
Why weren’t you all calling for masks in 2009?

Will ANTIFA members get to wear special black masks over their entire face?
Dr. Birx says masks do not cover your eyes and will never take the place of keeping your hands clean and off your face.

There aren’t any proper masks to be found anyway, so it’s a silly point.
Unless they are going to make proper masks available to the public?
A facemask is to keep you from spreading it, it won’t keep you from getting it, only a breather mask, like painters wear can keep you from getting it. People think they don’t have to keep social distancing when wearing a mask, I think it gives them a false sense of security.
Well, problem is there aren’t any left on the shelf.
