According to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), checks would be cut April 6.
Key provisions via Bloomberg:
Big Businesses: About $500 billion can be used to back loans and assistance to companies, including $50 billion for loans to U.S. airlines, as well as state and local governments. Small Businesses: More than $350 billion to aid small businesses, including $10 billion in SBA grants of up to $10,000 for small business costs, and $17 billion for SBA to cover six months of payments for businesses with current SBA loans. Hospitals: A $150 billion boost for hospitals and other health-care providers for equipment and supplies. Individuals: Direct payments to lower- and middle-income Americans of $1,200 for each adult, as well as $500 for each child. https://newslinks.net/details-of-2-trillion-coronavirus-stimulus-package-emerge/
Other ways to do this. This is redistribution. Cant put lipstick on that pig.
Actually, the loans to small businesses will be forgiven, if I understand it correctly. Not true of the loans going to Boeing and the airlines.
Could be from tax returns if you opted to do this BUT what if people have closed that account? What a nightmare!!
Here’s what it would have looked like if Hillary had been elected President: (Nancy’s list)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3828142/posts
Also, on Monday, Nancy proposed a 1,100-page bill that did provide some help for Americas workers, small businesses, and corporations. Most of the bill, though, was given over to Democrat wish-list items. If coronavirus had hit America with a Democrat in the White House and a Democrat majority in Congress, by Monday’s end, a new law would have
* raised the federal minimum wage to $15,
* subsidized student loan debt,
* provided more funds for PBS,
* funded the IRS and the Postal Service,
* mandated race and gender diversity for corporate boards,
* implemented same-day voter registration
* required airplanes to be carbon neutral in five years,
* as well as a host of other initiatives pandering to social justice, environmental, and union concerns and all of it would ostensibly have been done to protect American workers from coronaviruss ravages on the economy.
it’s not returning of taxes
it’s sticking future taxpayers with more taxes.
a RETURN would mean it’s being offset by cuts to even out
it’s’ not
Not seeing if those on Social Security are still included....

Why would SS recipients get money? We’re not being ‘laid off’ from it.

Dont Social Security beneficiaries pay taxes & file income tax returns?
Anything that helps mom helps me.
She gets SS and 500 a month pension..not enough to file in 2018 or 2019 as she owed no taxes
she will still get something?
i’m doing her food shopping but not getting reimbursed! :)
other 4 kids conveniently live in another state but i’ll be hunting them down.
thanks in advance
... and inflation eating away at fixed income seniors
Money should go to all workers who have lost income.
Looks like a bust from my small business. $10,000 is a pittance. I paid my SBA loan off last year after never missing a payment during the Great Recession and getting zero help in refinancing to a lower interest rate.
So far we’ve had over $120,000 in orders through the end of April cancelled and the phone is NOT ringing.
How long do I make my $35,000 per week payroll with $10,000 in assistance.
I don’t think their $1200 per adult is going to cover very much of lost wages. At their precious $15 min wage, that 2 weeks pay. My lowest wage in my company is $18.75 per hour. As I’m sure is the case with most companies.
The Senate and the House are useless. Actually, they are worse than useless, they are wrecking balls.
Time to go back to work people. Screw the shut downs.
I get it, but what is the point. Lets just go half commie as a compromise?
There are parts of the bill that are ok. Loans, fine. But free money to only a segment of the population is not making everyone an equal stakeholder, not by any means. It only further divides givers and takers. And it puts some low income hard workers into a welfare recipient role that maybe they would rather not be in, while giving free money to others who would rather take the money for NOT working.
CUT TAXES.
Don’t take our money and then pretend you are giving us something back.
On balance politically Pelosi was once again a huge loser. She looked like we knew she all is...a craven, elitist opportunist. Even my Democrat friends are screaming at their TV at her. She knew this and had to cave. They were staring down losing 100 house seats this Fall.
And housings, and property taxes, state taxes, insurance(s), etc.,
1/4 of a quadrillion pennies?
that too
that too
Agreed, in the usual form of unemployment benefits. Thats where federal dollars can help bankrupt states out, so that legitimately displaced workers can get by, but only get by, not get comfortable being unemployed.
We got the government we deserve.
yep
