Speaking of washing machines, my dryer went out. I bought another last Saturday. They can't deliver till this Thursday.
"Why is that?" I asked.
The salesman: "People are going crazy buying freezers. I've never seen such a thing. We're trying to get caught up just delivering all the freezers."

Kids new to homeschooling can spend some of their time learning to cook and bake. Schools in many places are emailing home some assignments, but most kids will finish them quickly.

Yup. My usual Tuesday AM order from Amazon did not come in this morning. Looks like it’s going to be a rough March...at least.

Or will this become the NEW new normal?
I suspect we'll get back to something like the normal you knew, with a few wrinkles.
More people will eschew hand-shaking
This goofy idea Ambassador Birx floated about Senior Citizen Only shopping hours might stick.
There will be even MORE pressure on those of us who doubt the safety/efficacy of vaccines to bend-over and comply.
I also think there will be some positive effects.
Supply chains are going to repatriate from China. The world will never trust them to this level again. That will have the added benefit of cutting resources to their military.
Some STOOOOOOPID political correctness about herding everyone into choo-choo trains and getting rid of plastic bags may go away.
There is some chance that this will be the beginning of the end for really EEEEEEEVIL regimes in Iran and China.
That latter one would make this all worth it.

"People are going crazy buying freezers. I've never seen such a thing. We're trying to get caught up just delivering all the freezers." Folks buying these freezers and cleaning out the stores buying hundreds pounds of perishables need to consider warmer weather, storm related power outages along with the normal power out from drivers knocking down poles etc. Buying a good generator and storage for enough fuel to stave off that one failure that renders their frozen food preperations as garbage.

They sold out of after-market Bidet attachments.

Or throw out the box and wash your hands. I guess if you think it is infectious, you can leave an infectious pile of packages sitting around in your garage for 10 days.....

They sold out of after-market Bidet attachments. Still in good supply phew !!

This is like a war. Amazon will be like the auto companies during WWII which shifted to building tanks and planes. Just as Amazon will be used to shift resources where they need to go the most.

The Man of the House gets the TP.
The Lady of the House IS making do.
I have a few thousand yards of cotton yarn being crocheted into squares.
It’s fine, but I’m still pretty salty over locusts grabbing everything.
I hope the damn hoarders get horrible diarrhea and go through their stash in triple time!

Amazon doesn’t MAKE anything. We need to MAKE things here. We need a huge import tariff NOW!

Amazon is a logistics company more than anything. They know how to get stuff quickly where it needs to go.

So are all of the chest and upright freezers in my area - Albany NY - until May, at least.
I’ve been shopping for a mid-size freezer and waiting for a better price to come along - that’s ain’t gonna happen any time soon at this point.
To: CaptainPhilFan
Even hard to find non-perishable stuff like canned goods. Insane.
