Amazon is banning sellers from shipping any non-essential items to its warehouses as it grapples with overwhelming demand for basic staple items as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow.
The Seattle-based e-tailing giant sent an email to sellers Tuesday announcing that it would only be accepting household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products for the next three weeks so that it can more quickly receive, restock, and deliver the products to customers.
We are seeing increased online shopping, and as a result some products such as household staples and medical supplies are out of stock, Amazon told sellers, according to an email obtained by NBC.
Sellers who use the Fulfillment by Amazon program normally send their goods to Amazons warehouses, which store and deliver the products for a fee.

Will this country ever get back to normal?
What if the person delivering for Amazon has the Kung Flu?
What if the USPS Mailman has the Kung Flu?
What if the workers at every Business you frequent have the Kung Flu?
When does this end?
ping
Normalcy will approach when we can manufacture our own medical supplies again.
And not before.
This isn’t just about the kung flu.
It’s about first world economies that created a communist country as their single point of failure. For most every product, not just medical supplies.
Remember when Joementia Biden said China wasn’t a threat to us and he called POTUS Trump a Racist for implementing the China Travel Ban?
Hopefully the Trump Reelection Campaign will include those golden oldies in all their Commercials.
One can certainly hope!
If those people or the person packing the package has it they have put formites all over it. On cardboard 3 days infectious survivability, plastics up to 9 days. Best idea put the packages in the garage for 10 days then unpack and spray with 1000ppm hydrochloride

hurry, if you are a prime member and you order within the next two hours, you get next day virus shipping.
This is about distribution, not manufacturing. We could have all kinds of products coming out of US factories but distributors like Amazon would still need to shift priorities to put medical supplies ahead of DVDs.
But I agree that this crisis will accelerate the decoupling of the US economy from China’s which is long overdue but which few thought would actually happen. How would President Trump have convinced a pharma company to move manufacturing from China back to the US three months ago? Now, it’s a completely different story. It never should have happened, but that’s how things work in a free society. However now the pendulum will swing back. Not just under it’s own power, it will be pulled back.
“Will this country ever get back to normal?”
President Trump today said yes and that the economy is pent up and will soar.
Keep the faith and prayer.
This explains why shipping ETAs jumped so much.
Like many places, my local, small town grocery was over run with outsiders coming in to empty the shelves - like locusts.
A store employee told us the store is not re-ordering many things for while, because the warehouses are cleaned out
So, I have had to order grocery staples from Amazon, and did so in double quantities. NOTHING is 1 or 2 day delivery. It’s a 5 day wait for some things, up to a month for others.
Still no TP and we’re down to 2 rolls.
I’m glad to see Amazon being able to tell their Sellers to send the essentials, only.
God help us all, and may we all help each other.
This morning received my Amazon Prime item ordered yesterday , just a few mins. under 24hrs, via FeDex. Large bottle of Fexall unavailble in that size locally. Bottle shrink wrapped, them tightly wrapped and sealed in Fedex plastic envelope, stuffed inside another shipping envelope with address. Wasn’t expected until Fri.
Today we spent 190 euros on spring clothes at our favorite store because they are closing tomorrow and we don’t like buying clothes on-line.
We got 20 percent off.
Last month we had an Amazon driver turn onto our lawn thinking it was the driveway. He got stuck and had to have his truck towed. My husband almost killed him. He was a nice man named Mohammad. Mr. Mohammad delivered my lipstick he could have easily put it in the mail box.
Will the country get back to normal? I believe with the hoarding of grocery items going on now, the food industry is benefiting in historic levels. With all the flour and sugar gone, I hope someone is selling lots of cookies and pies.
Some stores will stay open, and must stay open - super markets, pharmacies, etc.
Simple statistics says more than one cashier, as in many... 100's, will undoubtedly be infectors to the hundreds of customers they serve.
Maybe I should get another bag of Hoody’s while they have them.
