A little-noticed letter from special counsel Robert Mueller's office divulges Obama DOJ concerns about FBI treatment of ex-Trump national security adviser.
Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and other senior Obama-era Justice Department officials told the Russia special prosecutor in private interviews they had concerns about the FBIs conduct in investigating former Trump National Security Adviser Mike Flynn, according to memos that paint a dark portrait of the bureaus behavior.
The documents, which include a letter from Special Counsel Robert Muellers team transmitting exculpatory evidence to Flynns defense lawyers in 2018, offer the most detailed montage to date about why Attorney General Bill Barr recently appointed a special prosecutor to review the governments actions in the Flynn case.
Among other things, the correspondence shows:
Muellers team accepted Flynns guilty plea on a charge of lying about his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak even though agents told DOJ they thought the former general was not lying and simply had a faulty memory. DOJ officials believed the threat the FBI was using to prosecute Flynn under an obscure law known as the Logan Act was a stretch. Flynn was lured by the FBI into a fateful interview with agents believing he was not in legal jeopardy, which caused him not to seek a lawyer. Some of the DOJ officials assessments to the Mueller team were backed up by former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe. The documents add credence to the arguments Flynns new lawyer, Sidney Powell, is making that the former national security adviser was coerced into making his 2018 guilty plea and should be allowed to withdraw it.

Put them in the general population.
Didn’t Yates have something to do with telling the President that Gen Flynn was a national security risk or something like that?
Yates is as crooked as they come. She let a lot of folks in Atlanta get away with quite a bit of stuff.
Democrats are Democrats first.
Being an American is way down on their list.
They were so “alarmed” that they did nothing about it.
Yates is as crooked as they come.

She is, indeed!
Breaking: Senior Obama DOJ officials privately told Mueller they were alarmed by FBI treatment of Flynn, memos show. Believed threat of Logan Act prosecution was a "stretch" and Flynn was not properly allowed to have legal counsel. https://t.co/4Z2FuoPPjX— John Solomon (@jsolomonReports) March 16, 2020
They were alarmed as it wasn't severe enough and the process was taking too long? /S
Logan Act? I’ll bet they didn’t want to prosecute Gen Flynn under it. If so, then John Kerry (twice), Nancy Polosi, and who knows how many others would then also be subject to the same charges? That’s a box they didn’t want to open!
The great rank and file speaks out, many days late and many dollars short.
++++!
Durham and Barr are conducting fake Investigations to run out the clock, and cease calls for an Investigation.
When they are interested, they move. They charge lower tier people, bring smaller charges, seize Docs, and apply Pressure.
Just like Fraud Huber.
.
Judge Sullivan,
Drop the charges against General Flynn right now!
Flynn’s first attorneys were working against him and for the prosecutors.
Judge Sullivan has been given evidence that fairness required him to dismiss. Over and over. Whatever his thinking is, he’s not planning to dismiss Flynn’s case. So unless the DOJ led by AG Barr does something, e.g., such as produce the missing exculpatory evidence, the case will drain Flynn’s life and continue to silence his voice.
Barr lost my support when he allowed Horowitz to slow walk his administrative report. Durham was revealed as fraudulent when Barr kicked his “findings” to “summer.”
Where there is a will, there is a way. Provably, there is no will inside the “Trump” DOJ to prosecute criminal Democrats to the benefit of Donald J. Trump.
