Stocks tumbled on Monday as investors braced for the economic fallout from the spreading coronavirus, while a shocking all-out oil price war added to the anxiety.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average tanked more than 1,800 points at the open, while the S&P 500 dropped 7%. The massive sell-off triggered a key market circuit breaker in morning trading. Trading was halted for 15 minutes until 9:49 a.m. ET.

From listening to Fox Business it appears this drop is not really virus related.
Russia rejected oil production cuts with Riyadh in response to the coronavirus.
Russia saw an opportunity to take out Oil Shale industry in the USA. So this is Russia Russia Russia...
President Trump needs to step in and bail out the Oil Shale Industry to turn the market around.

The proper response would be a 20% tariff on oil imports. An emergency price stabilization duty on ALL oil imports. Please leave the taxpayer alone...

Then you still haven’t figured out Democrats. But no, I don’t think it was a Deep State conspiracy either. However, I do think the advice Trump is getting from the ‘experts’ will sink him, obviously something the Deep State would be very happy with. He should have (and still should) listen to Tucker.
If you are invested in large and medium company stocks that have a good product/service/management and a good dividend history or funds that hold such stocks, relax and do not panic sell. I’m an older investor and have weathered several big down turns.
This sell-off is a stupid panic and a crazy overreaction. Yes. Covid-19 is a concern and the Saudi oil price drop are tanking the market but hold on to your hats as the market will survive and come back in a few months or by next year. Don’t try to buy to catch a low point. Hold off buying until you see things are getting better. Do continue your long term savings and cash stash as you need to protect your future.

The problem is we are a major exporter of Oil. Russia is forcing the price per a barrow down threatening the Oil Shade Industry here. We export more then we import. Not sure how the 20% import tax will help.
This is a trade war started by Russia.
The taxpayer is being hurt by the market crashing. Not sure how that is effecting other sectors of the Market. I do see lots of buying opportunities.
Edms are now calling for employees hit by the virus should be paid sick leave if their employer doesn’t have enough business.
SOOO-—the Owner should pay wages when there is no business? Why should supporting all those families fall on the shoulders of the owner?
IF something stupid like that happens, then ALL the employees will be out of work when the owner closes the doors.
The biggest fear among the Demwits is that Sanders and Biden will catch the virus and there will be a double funeral (technically, a triple one).

Italy’s numbers are scary. Seems like there a two strains of the virus. One far deadlier than the other. I am not liking the numbers coming from Washington state either.
