I didn’t see a link in the various links to the State by State Data.

Party registration is fairly meaningless. Republicans in some Democrat-dominated cities, like D.C. or NYC, register as Democrats so they can vote in Democrat primaries. Also, some states, like Texas, have no party registration.

The Gallup party-identification survey showed self-identified Republicans outnumbering Democrats recently. Independents have often outnumbered both parties.

The DEMs in CALIFORNIA pulled some shenanigans - the state gov sent out ballot mailers to Republicans that suggested you had to change your party and then only allowed you to change to DEM or INDependent. I didn’t select anything and I was kept on the voter rolls and received, voted & returned my (REPUBLICAN) absentee ballot.

Maybe because Trump and the GOPe are very different. I support Trump while I don’t support many of those in GOP leadership. Trump is America First... the GOP isn’t.

More spew from “The Hill” of trash.

Better headline: “Democrat voter registration plunges nearly 4% from their peak, GOP registration slightly less, while Independents soar.”

Oh, many many Conservatives have been dropping their GOP registration to register as Independents AND many of the more conservative Red States don’t register by Party, including TX, TN, AL, MS, GA, SC, IN, MO, OH, ND and MT.

I’m a registered conservative here in NYS, so I wouldn’t be counted as republican.

Bushes, Romney, McCain no doubt helped lower the numbers.

Personally, my voter registration card is labeled “Republican” strictly because I vote in the Republican Primary races. I really resent the fact that I have to be grouped in with individuals like Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski, Pierre Delecto and the rest of those douche-nozzles.

I consider myself to be a Constitutional Conservative before any other party affiliation, but the two privately owned “political parties” seem to have a problem with that sort of sovereign thinking on the part of American Citizens.

Been following politics a long time and don’t recall hearing there were always more independents than Republicans.

Is that accurate?

I’ve been an independent since I quit the Republican Party in
2014 after they completely failed us.

I guess no one was independent before 1854.

Or everyone was an ignorant jackass, just like their descendants.

Although I love Trump and think he is the greatest ever, I will never be registered as a Republican. This is the party that gave us John McCain. I still regret that I actually voted for him.

I believe if the Republican Party at all levels and POTUS would go on a full court press clearly differentiating between what Republicans (Conservatives) stand for versus the 2020 Democrats (liberal/socialist) platform there would be a mass exodus from the Democratic Party. and Independents would register as Republican. I know, I know - but I can dream can’t I?

I’d love to see numbers like new registrations with this.

What’s the average age of a registered Democrat? 126?

Isn’t Independent on the rise because of open primaries?

I’ve been independent for many years because the GOP did not represent me.

I wanted a party that sided with the citizens and the rule of law against illegal aliens and they refused.

Trump is an anomaly, most of the elected GOP are still committed to the fundamental transformation of our country into North Mexico.

I am expecting to become a registered Democrat this election so I can vote for Bernie Sanders.
