Oh, his book is so he can clean up financially because he was denied the opportunity to make money unlike his “civilian counterparts”. These tin soldiers make me want to throw up.
Which begs the question, how many of the senior officers currently in the Pentagon think the same way that Kelly does? We may never know but it's probably highly likely that Trump enjoys little loyalty in the Pentagon.
Assuming facts that are not in evidence. There is a reason you are an EX Chief of Staff.
Go ahead, Kelly, take the mask off for all to see. Which Wormtongue made the recommendation to hire this guy, and McMasters, and the rest? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Absolutely, Stone warned Trump from the start against going in the whole hiring direction that Jared (appallingly the head of Trump’s transition hiring) and Ivanka convinced him to go in. Stone said Trump was going for Establishment Never Trumper types with the idea he could unify the party, etc., when Stone said he needed to go with loyalists, and if Trump couldn’t find enough loyalists in DC, there were plenty of political veterans across the states who believed in his agenda and just helped him to get elected. Stone went on naming names of good candidates and identified some of the early traitors Trump was bringing in.
Roger has his quirks, but he was a longtime Trump friend who believed in Trump’s agenda and knew politics 10,000 times better than Jared and Ivanka.
The Atlantic.
Don’t believe a word of it.
Get a different source.
Reads as though he’s 2-faced.
Looks like the press is going to have to rewrite his history if they like what he said like Bolton.
Wikipedia quotes USA Today re: Kelly:””””
Of his tenure as Secretary of Homeland Security, USA Today wrote, “Kelly oversaw some of the most controversial policies of Trump’s agenda, including a travel ban targeting several majority-Muslim countries, a reduction in refugee admissions and stepped-up deportations of undocumented immigrants.
According to the New Yorker, Kelly left the D.H.S. with a
reputation as one of the most aggressive enforcers of immigration law in recent American history. His record belies the short length of his tenure. In six months, Kelly eliminated guidelines that governed federal immigration agents’ work; vastly expanded the categories of immigrants being targeted for deportation; threatened to abandon the Obama-era program that grants legal status to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children; and has even broached the idea of splitting up mothers and children at the border to “deter” people from coming to the U.S.[40]
The D.H.S. under Kelly “became one of the few branches of the federal government that has been both willing and able to execute Trump’s policy priorities.”[40] Unlike other agency heads, Kelly did not clash with Trump “”””
Lincoln had the same problem with his generals but he knew how to handle them better. Joe Hooker was bragging openly that the country needed a dictatorship - Lincoln responded that “he’s got to win a battle first”. Methinks Mr. Kelley thinks quite a bit more of himself than is warranted.
He is just getting his dimocrat campaign for some rat job, prez, senator, gov, some rat position in the future. Remember that NATO general, wasn’t he butt kissing Klinton, dang I forget that little butt-wipes name. He disappeared. This punk will also. Just became they are generals don’t mean they knew what they were doing. Butt kissing gets you promoted at that ranks. He probably kissed butts of his colonels and generals above him as he moved up the butt kissing ladder and when he got his first star, it was general’s butts and the politicians who approve general’s stars.
Obama's Gemerals?
Alas Poor Yorick, we hardly knew ye...
Hard to know who Trump could trust. Biggest problem with his foreign policy is that no one who is “qualified” is willing to carry it out. I think Pompeo had been one of the few exceptions. Not sure the others are in Trump’s camp.
Most officers with stars on their shoulder are quite honestly a$sholes. Their first duty is not to this country but to the institution of the military. Thats why people like Kelly and Mattis are pompous jerks. They actually think they know better than the President how to set policy. Everything else is just a smokescreen for their own hubris and allegiance to the service. Ive seen it over and over again during my time in service and to this day with classmates who are now 1 and 2 star generals. Once one hits major it all becomes political. Thus we end up with jerks like Kelly.
Vindman was just doing his job? Shame on you John Kelly.
I dont think anyone in DC likes trump. Hard to see how he accomplished so much with so many against him.
I guess some in Congress like him but govt long term employees seem to come out against him
Kelley let Obama's pet, Ray Mabus, butt f#ck him. And them, like a lot of Obama's perfumed princes, stuck around to see if they could torpedo Trump. Kelley owed Obama, and the Left, for not dumping him, like so many others.
They took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and then decided that, since Obama was out to ream the US military, anyhow, swearing alligence to a false god is the better than getting riffed...
I never liked Mattis or Kelly. Glad they are gone. Kelly to me will be the new John Martha if he keeps opening his pie hole.
just another embarrassing outburst from another nobody who clearly believes he is above the President.
