Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) made clear in an interview with The Atlantic on Wednesday that he will not vote for President Trump's re-election in November.
Driving the news: Romney sent shockwaves through Washington after announcing he would vote to convict Trump in the impeachment trial — becoming the only Senate Republican to break ranks and vote for the president's removal from office.
"The president delayed funds for an American ally at war with Russian invaders," Romney said in a speech on the Senate floor. "The president's purpose was personal and political. Accordingly, the president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust." Yes, but: Romney also stated that "under no circumstances" would he vote for Sens. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, who could face off against Trump in the general election.
Romney wrote in his wife's name on the ballot in 2016. "She’ll probably get [a] second vote," he told The Atlantic.

Federal officeholders -- senators and congressmen -- cannot be recalled. This issue has been litigated both in federal court (Frank Church, Idaho, 1967) and state court (Robert Menendez, New Jersey, 2013).
Although Justice Clarence Thomas believes that states should have the right of recall under the 10th Amendment, getting four other justices to agree with him will be a high hill to climb, especially considering the case law already on the books.

Who cares who he votes for. And as for his being the Dem nominee, I think that’s unlikely because nobody trusts a traitor, even if his treason was on your behalf. The most they’ll do is take his money.

Romney, I couldn’t vote for him. It was so hard. I asked The LORD to use my non vote to open the door for an amazing candidate to go through in the next election.
Not on FREE REPUBLIC I can’t, I would get bounced in a heartbeat for language infractions and probably little to much violence.

Not one witness in the House of Representatives could identify a crime that Trump had committed. None the less, crimes were assessed by Senator Romney and others who themselves wish to be judged fairly.
Speaker Pelosi, Congressmen Ryan and Jerry Nadler each want us to accept that they did what they felt was right. For us not to believe them seems unforgivable to them. Romney also wanted us to believe that he had good cause and a clean conscience for coming to the conclusion he did, to vote guilty on Article I.
The problem for me and many other people is that these people who want us to assume good intentions on their part, were incapable of granting the same to the president.
It has still not dawned on them, that Trump did his best to comply with the law and achieve something that was entirely reasonable for the top dog in our nation to do.
They know this. They accept the premise, because then Vice President Joseph Biden actually did what they are charging Trump with. He admits it, and brags about it in public. It's on video. So when it comes to Joe, they accept his judgment. Where is Romney's call for Biden to be charged with a misdemeanor or high crime?
Romney, is coming up wanting here.
