True. Demonrats are whining about Rush. While Obummer gave the Medal of Freedom to a carpet muncher, for just munching carpet, and a jihadist, for ,well, being a jihadist.
The beard really does make him look like a harmless little fuzzball.
As someone who often watches the Dittocam playback on YouTube, the beard is something new and something he didn't start until maybe a week ago.
I retired last spring and I kept asking myself "why am I still shaving?" so I still shave but not daily. I'm guessing when he received the cancer diagnosis, he probably asked "why am I still shaving?" and decided to stop. I imagine he didn't think he might be put on prime time national television that way. He's probably a little sheepish about it.

Rush truly is an American National Treasure.
It’s my (un-educated) guess that he likely WAS told he’d be getting it. He was likely NOT told he’d be getting it last night at the SOTU.
It is (sadly) also my guess that they knew they’d have to give it to him soon due to the advancement of his cancer.
Barring a miracle of Almighty G-d (totally within the realm of possibility), we may not have him for long. I hope to G-d I’m wrong.
I suppose him sitting beside Melania might have given him a inkling something was up but maybe not. :)
Reagan was Moses who showed America the Promised Land.
Rush is Joshua who taught America they are no longer a slave race and to learn and fight like free men and women.
Trump is teaching America how to stand tall and be unafraid of the forces against them.
It was a notable moment for Americans to witness, particularly voters and those yet in school. That non-response together with her tearing up the SOTU address indicates clearly the level of the intense struggle facing our nation over two opposite political views..
Would you and I have stood and applauded Obama as he awarded the Medal to an out-of-the-closet communist?
That picture of Rush smiling was Rush as the last time I saw him on TV. He is showing the ravages of his treatment and the cancer itself. Millions of us are praying for him and hoping for an outcome that will keep Rush with us awhile longer. “Wait a little longer please Jesus”. Porter Wagner song. God bless and comfort you and your loved ones Rush.
Watching Rush's reaction, it appeared to me that he was only surprised about the timing of the presentation.
I'm certain he was already aware that he would be receiving it.
If this presentation to Rush was held as its own event say in the Rose garden, msm and probably fox would have ignored it or paid the ceremony very little time. On the biggest stage in front all to see, PDJT honors Rush during the sotu speech. Maserful move by the President and Melina while this honor bestowed onto Rush is well deserving and was long time coming.
Made me well up.
My concern last night was that maybe the President knows something and that it couldn’t wait for a formal ceremony to be scheduled?
Rush probably couldn’t wait. I am sure today he is in the hospital.
