Former Trump Chief Of Staff John Kelly On Ukraine Claim: ‘I Believe John Bolton’
Huffpost ^ | 1/28/20 | Sebastian Murdock

Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said he believes former national security adviser John Bolton’s assertion that President Donald Trump withheld aid from Ukraine to pressure that country into announcing an investigation of Joe Biden.

“If John Bolton says that in the book, I believe John Bolton,” Kelly told the crowd at a lecture series in Sarasota, Florida, on Monday.

Bolton’s accusation has become the latest twist in the Senate impeachment trial. A draft of his new book, obtained by The New York Times, says that Trump told Bolton last August that he wanted to freeze nearly $400 million in congressionally approved military assistance to Ukraine until the country agreed to investigate the former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate.

I have long stated that Kelly was a filthy traitorous dirtbag. Another trump personnel decision that cost him in wasted effort. Kelly would stab you in the back in a minute. He sabotaged every trump immigration policy when he was at DHS. He defines scumball.

“Kelly, Bolton, Sessions, Mattis, Omarosa, et al. Trump chose...poorly.

During the campaign Trump bragged constantly about the size of his rolodex and all of the “great” people he was going to appoint to government jobs. When he was elected, it was soon clear he had given little thought or attention to putting together a quality team ready to hit the ground running. As a result he was forced to start his presidency with Obama holdovers, a few generals, and mostly Washington insiders. Many key slots remained unfilled for months.

During the campaign he chose Paul Manafort to be his campaign manager, apparently without proper vetting. He kept the sleazy Michael Cohn as his personal attorney, after being elected president, a selection which soon backfired when Cohn turned on him. Omorossa was a prize he brought from his own organization. One might also argue Ivanka and Jarod were not prepared to deal with Washington and contributed to some of the poor personnel choices Trump made.

At this point, one could surmise attracting and selecting talent is not one of Trump’s core competencies as a leader. He also seems to have trouble inspiring loyalty in his key people.

Regardless, he’s really only saying he considers Bolton a creditable person. He doesn’t even know if Bolton said what is claimed, or any further detail.

Bolton is strident and over-aggressive, but he also has a reputation for being forthright.

We’ll see soon, but we already see differences between the NYT article direct claims and it’s characterizations.

Maybe Bolton is being an opportunist jerk, but there’s a lot of extrapolation and innuendo by untrustworthy media.

How irresponsible to say IF it’s in a book, I believe it. Wasn’t there, doesn’t know, hasn’t even read the book.

It’s all a set up. Bolton and Kelly wouldn’t both do this if they weren’t in on a tactic “Oh no not the briar patch....( where I can use my big guns)”

Except the Congress delayed approving hundreds of his appointees.

Manafort did a great job pre convention and left.

Trump brought in a number of establishment people who disappointed.

The Deep State lifers all hate Trump and think they know better.

Yet John “Loud Mouth” Kelly won’t run for POTUS now will he? There has been no bigger disappoint of the Age of Trump than the disloyalty of “Trump’s Generals” to POTUS and the Constitution. Sadly, I believe it reflects on the services in general at the command level. Plain and simple, they are not with the people. They are loyal to the Deep State and that is all.

All of these pouty, thumb-sucking Trump haters keep saying Trump "withheld" aid to the Ukraine.

He didn't withhold aid to Ukraine. Trump saying he wanted to withhold aid is vastly different that actually withholding the aid. The Ukraine received their US aid.

This is where Bolton is wrong (and Kelly). The Ukraine got their aid despite what they "heard". His claims are more of the same----second-hand accounts of what actually happened.

And he's lying if he says there was no coordination in releasing excerpts of his book (not due out for two months) at the very time of the impeachment trial. There are no such thing as a coincidence like that. He's trying to cause trouble deliberately.

If Trump didn't actually withhold the aid, there is no case.

What is this thing? Trump fires someone and they try to bring down the country, over and over again. They have no honor or sense of proportion.

They all think they know better than the voters that elected Trump. Time to burn it down and start over. Only good can come from the ashes of the Uniparty.

Have we heard from Kellyanne Conway’s husband-thingy on this yet?

I never form an opinion on anything without his input.

Well Bolton made a major error. he claimed he talked to the AG about Ukraine. AG Barr says that conversation never happened. I believe the AG.

It’s both funny and sad to see all these @ssholes show their true colors after so many Freepers held them up as great members of the Trump administration — and even criticized a lot of us here who knew long ago that they were ... well, @SSHOLES.

Who cares?!?!? It’s still not impeachable.
