The mainstream media in the western world isnt telling you that Chinese hospitals are being absolutely overwhelmed by the number of sick people showing up for treatment. So the truth is that the official numbers that the Chinese government is putting out are almost meaningless at this point because hordes of sick people are being turned away from the hospitals because there is no room for them. On Wednesday, Chinese officials took the unprecedented step of attempting to quarantine the entire city of Wuhan, but what good is that going to do if most of the sick people are turned away by the hospitals and sent back to circulate among the general population? There are about 11 million people living in Wuhan, and there will only be about 2,000 hospital beds available for those that have caught this mysterious new coronavirus. And considering the fact that officials are now admitting that this virus is being spread through respiratory transmission, it looks like this could become a complete and utter public health nightmare very rapidly.
ets start by discussing the latest official numbers. According to Reuters, Chinese authorities are claiming that there are 571 confirmed cases, 393 suspected cases and 17 confirmed deaths
Authorities had confirmed 571 cases and 17 deaths by the end of Wednesday, Chinas National Health Commission said. Earlier, it said another 393 suspected cases had been reported.
Of eight known cases worldwide, Thailand has confirmed four, while Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States have reported one each.
What this means is that the official death toll has nearly doubled since yesterday.
That isnt good.

In situations like this the populace can panic. They can rush medical facilities with any little ailment that in some small way makes them think they are infected.
This may be evidence of wide spread disease, or simply the pubic being very nervous.
The quarantine does serve to help reduce the disease spreading, but it can also panic the public.
Yes. The Bring Out Your Dead Ping List was originally the Ebola Ping List.
I got sent home with a PICC line and several bags of antibiotics.
What would happen if your community was basically shut down for 2-4 weeks due to a quarantine.
No one could leave or get into your community for 2-4 weeks.
When would you have power failures and maybe natural gas shutoffs.
Living in California, besides grab/go bags, we keep enough water and food for 2-3 weeks. Food that doesn’t have to be refrigerated or frozen.
Food that is in our combo refrig/freezer lasts for about a week if we get in and out quickly. The freezer on the bottom has frozen bottles of water on the top shelves
Our standing freezer with frozen water bottles on top inside shelf, has kept food frozen for 5-7 days with the get in and out quick action.
So, you eat your refrig food first, your freezer food next and then your non refrig/freezer food.
You need to have 2-4 weeks of your important Rx medicines and that minimum for daily otc meds.
Keep at least a half tank of gasoline in your vehicles. Good luck with any solar vehicle that has to have its batteries charged to get out of your driveway.
Home and self defense needs to be considered.
They eat bats. I found some interesting stuff on that. No time to post at the moment. Bats carry some kind of coronavirus.
ANyone who thinks eating weird animals/creatures/bugs is good is insane.
Of course I avoid all that by not eating meat at all...
Do you get the feeling China’s under-reporting?
Only source? I think you might be wrong, but they do vastly dominate antibiotic manufacturing.
Now they put broad spectrum antibiotics in your IV before surgery and after surgery. They schedule you to go to the specialists office for wound care. Write you a script for worthless pain meds like Vicodin or Oxycon, and feed you oral antibiotics as a prevention measure to infection. What used to be a 5 day hospital stay is now outpatient services.
This is a virus so the local fleet farm store stock of antibiotics isn't going to do much. I sure hope they have an effective antiviral for this in sufficient quantities?
This should make the envirowackos happy.
There’s actually a term for that: Treat ‘em and Street ‘em!
They don't.
Stay well.
Uh oh
My great-grandmother and her cousin were the only 2 people to survive in a household affected by the Spanish Flu. Apparently, back then, they had the strange idea that despite the fact that people who were sick were thirsty as could be, that giving them water was a bad idea. So, they had a pact. If one of them got sick, the other would sneak them water. Her cousin got sick, and she snuck in to her room and gave her water, and then snuck out 3-4 times a day. She stayed very hydrated and didn’t get sick, and her cousin got better. Everyone else in the house died.
I think it’s more a case of...if China, where most antibiotics are manufactured, is shut down for 6 months while they deal with this, what if you need antibiotics for something...?
The five way shots each year for immunization have a hoof-rot adjunct. It works miracles on the nail fungus.
Most those meds are produced in the UK or USA.
Are the antibiotic ingredients made in the UK or US?
Or is the product itself, ie the ‘manufacture’ of the liquid substance in the bottle that includes the active ingredient plus the inactive ingredients simply put together in the US/UK?
Lots of things we think are manufactured here (vaccines for example) are in fact manufactured with ingredients that are themselves manufactured in China.
Once you get past the “approved for use in swine only” labels. Some antibiotics are bovine and swine.
Agreed. Much like cars now, components from everywhere. In America we prefer to do the drug packaging lines in order to avoid litigation issues. Good quality control and packaging. I’m sure the dry unreconstituted base comes in bulk. Like 2000 pound tote sacks.
