WASHINGTON - U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday ruled out a so-called witness trade in which Republicans call witnesses Democrats want in exchange for former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden testifying in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.
“I think that’s off the table. First of all the Republicans have the right to bring in any witness they want. They haven’t wanted to and that trade is not on the table,” Schumer told reporters during a break in the Senate trial.

Sophistry, pure and simple. The Republicans have not yet named witnesses, but that is only because that clause of the rules set by Majority Leader McConnell has not yet been triggered. What Schumer is implying is that the Republicans cannot name any witnesses, ever.
But Schumer continues to harangue the crowd, unwilling recipients of the lectures and veiled threats he keeps up almost tirelessly.

Wouldn’t pass, because all Democrats and some Republicans want to use this to damage Trump’s reelection chances. They all know he will not be removed, so it’s a political stunt.
