House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Wednesday that Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Adam Schiff will be among the impeachment managers who will press the Houses case against President Trump during a Senate trial.
Today is the day that we name the managers, we go to the floor to pass the resolution to transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate, she said.
Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Schiff, the head of the House Intelligence Committee, played crucial roles in the Houses impeachment inquiry into Trump last fall.
Others include Reps. Zoe Lofgren, Hakeem Jeffries and Val Demmings, Jason Crow, Sylvia Garcia.
The House managers are expected to personally deliver the articles to the Senate later Wednesday.
White House counsel Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow, Trumps personal lawyer, will lead Trumps defense.
Pelosis announcement comes just hours before the House will vote on releasing the two articles of impeachment for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress to Senate so a trial can get underway.
The speaker has been holding up delivering the articles since the House voted on Dec. 18 to pressure Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to release the framework of how a trial would be conducted, call witnesses to testify and not hold a vote to dismiss.

Does appointing them managers keep them from being called as witnesses?
That sounds like the type of ‘strategy’ they would employ.
Recall that Schiff claimed to have ‘evidence’ of foul play, but never produced it in the House.
Only trolls like eeyore 90 constantly attack our own and cause discord.
There has never before been a vote to release the articles of impeachment after the vote to approve the articles of impeachment.
This smells of CYA for Pelosi for delaying it in the first place. Now she will say it wasn't her decision, she had to wait for a vote to send it to the Senate.

I am not a lwayer so I could be missing something here, but...
In a normal court setting, it would probably be considered foul to call the prosecutor or defense attorney as a witness, but its also an ethical problem to represent someone if you have a self interest in the case.
Now, if the lawyer for any one side looks like he might be a material witness for his side, he has a choice to step aside in favor of another attorney so he can then be called as a witness to support his (previous) client.
Thats not the same as addressing a dirty prosecutor so I am not sure how it would be handled, but the defense could always point out the conflict of interest and see if they can have the prosecutor replaced.
None of this is in a real legal setting though. Its a political setting and exercise. The rules are what the Senate makes them to be.
Im thinking not. The Senators are jurors. With Clinton they all gave speeches at the end but, beyond that they lousy listen

See post 89...and see reality.
It’s not rocket science!
Will Nadler stay awake??
Lol. I see it and know of reality too that you all don’t process.
“The House managers are expected to personally deliver the articles to the Senate later Wednesday.”
Mitch should advise them to leave the worthless documents in his mailbox...he has more judges to confirm.
Miss Lindsey Graham, is that you?
Good grief...
Why am I not surprised? I see lots of funny skits on Greg Gutfield show coming up.

Mitch should tell the House that there will be no pomp and circumstance in delivery of the document/notification. Then have some secretary take possession of it from the group of idiots.
I agree. Can a house manager be called as a witness and made to testify under oath?
No FF. Just someone who swore an oath and who will fulfill it.

The House managers can be rejected and for good reason.
