House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Wednesday that Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Adam Schiff will be among the impeachment managers who will press the Houses case against President Trump during a Senate trial.
Today is the day that we name the managers, we go to the floor to pass the resolution to transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate, she said.
Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Schiff, the head of the House Intelligence Committee, played crucial roles in the Houses impeachment inquiry into Trump last fall.
Others include Reps. Zoe Lofgren, Hakeem Jeffries and Val Demmings, Jason Crow, Sylvia Garcia.
The House managers are expected to personally deliver the articles to the Senate later Wednesday.
White House counsel Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow, Trumps personal lawyer, will lead Trumps defense.
Pelosis announcement comes just hours before the House will vote on releasing the two articles of impeachment for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress to Senate so a trial can get underway.
The speaker has been holding up delivering the articles since the House voted on Dec. 18 to pressure Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to release the framework of how a trial would be conducted, call witnesses to testify and not hold a vote to dismiss.

Uh, you need to take a pill, grab a comfort blanket, and schedule the next therapy session. MomwithHope? Really?
Going to need a new supply of acme traps. The old ones just did not work well.
When John Adams traveled to Philadelphia to be a participant in the debate over the Declaration of Independence, he said he despaired over whether there would be enough great men there equal to the task.
So in 2020 Pelosi comes up with Schiff and Nadler?
AOC’s dog could carry the printed articles over himself. The would be an upgrade to the staff. He could leave a deposit behind that would sum up the Dem arguments just fine.
Oh,so they get paid.
Cue the Laurel and Hardy theme music...
Perfect, the biggest losers in the house!
Can’t ..the *itch from hell saw to it by appointing him as one of the manager! Wicked slimy *itch!!! These EFFIN people are ARE EVVVVVILLL! There’s only one way to stop these evil *iches!...BURN IT DOWN!!
Is POTUS walking into a trap in the Senate?

wow. what details.
Sadly, many freepers chose to attack these logical statements.
Correct. We’ve been told for months as the Dems steadly advance the impeachment ball down the field that:
1)The Dems are bluffing. They’ll never impeach.
2)Impeachment will never leave the House.
3)McConnell will dismiss without a trial
4)It’s ok if it gets to the Senate because the GOP will be in control. POTUS will get witnesses, etc.
Now impeachment is in the Senate and the Dems are clearly still in control of the process. The trial balloons are up for Democrat witnesses and nobody is shooting them down.
The facts are on our side. It gives me no pleasure to note the do-nothingness of the GOP Senate and be right repeatedly on impeachment. Like POTUS I wish the GOP was defending a GOP POTUS as hard as the Dems fight to impeach him. But they are not and it is what it is.
I choose to attack the Democrats, rather than your approach.
“Schiff should be a witness!”
And so can Nadler. That’s why there are on the prosecution team. So Pelosi can claim that they cannot be witnesses and trial managers.
This will get interesting fast.
If Schiff is a manager and is called as a witness, does his position as a manager still exempt him from prosecution if he lies under oath while performing Congressional duties like it would otherwise?
I watched as much of the announcement as I could, but I couldn’t help notice that they appointed 7 impeachment managers - Nadler and Schiff, plus a black man, a black woman, a white woman, a hispanic woman and a white veteran. They didn’t appoint impeachment managers, they went to central casting.
Doubtful!
They have no choice, they were paid to do it.
Maybe to a buffet.
Notice the pieces of orange, he must be diabetic.
You’re right. As much as I hate to admit it Nancy’s stunt paid dividends. It gave them time to flip a couple of RINOS to accept more witnesses.
