“Schiff should be a witness!”

And so can Nadler. That’s why there are on the prosecution team. So Pelosi can claim that they cannot be witnesses and trial managers.

This will get interesting fast.

I am not a lwayer so I could be missing something here, but...

In a normal court setting, it would probably be considered foul to call the prosecutor or defense attorney as a witness, but its also an ethical problem to represent someone if you have a self interest in the case.

Now, if the lawyer for any one side looks like he might be a material witness for his side, he has a choice to step aside in favor of another attorney so he can then be called as a witness to support his (previous) client.

Thats not the same as addressing a dirty prosecutor so I am not sure how it would be handled, but the defense could always point out the conflict of interest and see if they can have the prosecutor replaced.

None of this is in a real legal setting though. Its a political setting and exercise. The rules are what the Senate makes them to be.

What's interesting is that Schitt and the Hutt are likely persons of interest in the current criminal investigations going on and they should be removed from these positions as a minimum. Lots of popcorn!🤔
