House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top Democrats are calling on President Trump and the top Senate Republican to allow John Bolton to testify in the Senate impeach trial after the former national security adviser stated Monday he would comply if subpoenaed.
Pelosi equipped with the new Bolton statement said Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have "run out of excuses" and that the Republican-controlled Senate must seek his testimony about the Trump administration's contacts with Ukraine.
"They must allow key witnesses to testify, and produce the documents Trump has blocked, so Americans can see the facts for themselves. The Senate cannot be complicit in the President's cover-up," the Speaker tweeted, using the hashtag "DefendOurDemocracy."

“Momentum for uncovering the truth in a Senate trial continues. John Bolton correctly acknowledged that he needs to comply with a Senate subpoena to compel his testimony, if issued. It is now up to four Senate Republicans to support bringing in Mr. Bolton, and the other three witnesses, as well as the key documents we have requested to ensure all the evidence is presented at the onset of a Senate trial," Schumer said in a statement.
"Given that Mr. Bolton’s lawyers have stated he has new relevant information to share, if any Senate Republican opposes issuing subpoenas to the four witnesses and documents we have requested they would make absolutely clear they are participating in a cover up," Schumer added.

But there’s no point in this little farce going any further. It just legitimizes it.
And no one should fall for Schumer’s whining and wheedling after what Schiff and Pelosi did to the Republicans in the House.
I thought it was the democrats that decided they didn’t want Bolton to testify in the house.
If he had information, the time to bring it would have been during the development of articles of impeachment.

There was no deadline for the impeachment hearings, they could have gone on as long as the Democrats wanted
But the Democrats insisted on having their charges delivered before Christmas

If served with a subpoena — a real, honest-to-goodness, official subpoena — doesn’t everyone show up and testify?
Bolton said he’s do what he is legally required to do. Pelosi and others seem to think this simple statement is an indication that the Walls Are Closing In on the president. I hardly think so.

BUT...After the trial, and NOT testifying, Bolton will annihilate the Dems. Bolton has the deepest respect for the Office of the President and the Powers that he has. You have to read his history.
